Altenew Suddenly Spring Stand-alone Dies Release Blog Hop + Giveaway($300 in Total Prizes)

Hello there!

Welcome to ALTENEW SUDDENLY SPRING STAND-ALONE DIES RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY.  You are arriving from the always amazing Jennifer McGuire's blog.  A list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post for your convenience.

This month's new Stand-Alone dies are amazing, and then there is the new Instant Dimension Foam Tape..OM Word!   So much goodness in one single release it was hard to narrow down to a favorite, so instead, I pretty much used all the things in my projects.  Let me show you:

The new MINI FLOWER CLUSTER LAYERING DIE SET is gorgeous, and so easy to layer that you will be creating flowers for days!  Of course, I had to use it to add a new entry in my journal.

Just love these floral clusters from the new MINI FLOWER CLUSTER LAYERING DIE SET!  But the new SLIM SENTIMENTS DIE SET is probably one I will go back to. The design of the sentiments works great on cards ( slimline cards) but also can be trimmed and stacked in journal cards for titles!!!

I just love these two new die sets, and probably will go into the frequent use stash!!   But let me show you another idea to use the new dies in memory keeping...

The new CIRCULAR ELEMENTS DIE SET is a fun new die that works great in cards and layouts!   This time, I am pairing it with a few of the smaller elements from the WHIMSICAL GARDEN LAYERING DIE SET.

I took advantage of the open circle spaces to add the small floral details.  I used the negative piece of the cut outs to accent the design  on my page.   Love how easy it came together.

Of course, I created a few cards using the new die sets.  Starting with this clean and simple design using the new FANCY KISSES DIE and Red Sunset Slim Washi Tape set.

A few pieces of washi tape, topped with the new FANCY KISSES DIE  ( stacked die cuts ) and a few gold gems = simple perfection!

Did I mentioned, that I am loving the new INSTANT DIMENSION FOAM TAPE.  It literally is the easiest way to create dimension on your projects.   I paired it with the new 3D BANNER DIE SET, Mini Delights Smile Blooms in this card.

The new Foam Tape is helping keep the banner together while adding the dimension to the fold of the banner.    Just love how this turned out!

For my last project, I combined a few of the new dies into one slimline card.  It all worked so well!!!

I cut a panel using the Nesting Slim Rectangles die set. Next, I used the new  REFLECTIONS DIE to cut two die cuts, and glued them onto the card panel.    The Craft-A-Flower: Antique Rose Layering Die set creates the perfect focal point for this card.

The DECORATIVE SWIRLS DIE SET creates awesome leaves (lots of movement in them), they work perfect for the slim line size.   The last touch a small sentiment, once again the new SLIM SENTIMENTS DIE SET is just perfect for this -as you can trim the sentiments to fit your design!-.

I am sure you are all ready to start ordering.  Remember to take advantage of Altenew's promotions:

Of course, we are celebrating the release with a GIVEAWAY!!!

EXPLORE JOURNEY ROAM - Simple Stories

 Hello Friends!

Nathalie with you today! I am sure we all are dreaming about traveling at this moment.  Unfortunately, many of us had to cancel or postpone travel plans.  Thankfully, scrapbooking is a sure way to relive your past adventures, and the new Simple Stories' SAFE TRAVELS collections is sure to help you document them in style.   This new collection is amazing, versatile and perfect to document our first day at the beach in my native Ecuador.

I always love to unpack my kits on the table before I start working -having a view of the entire collection  always brings ideas to my  mind-.  That is how I zoned into the Foam Stickers, especially the large words. As a group they form a large focal point for the page.

Once I set them on the center of the 2x2 4x4 paper, they formed the perfect spacing for the pictures, and offered a nice color blocking design on the page.

One of the most repetitive elements in the collection are arrows.  So, I decided to create my own chevron/arrows for the page.  I used a ruler and pencil to draw them in papers from the 6x8 paper pad, then cut them out.   I glued them to white cardstock, and using a thumbtack  created a stitching guide.  A bit of handstitching  adds texture to each shape.   The last step is to cut them out of the white cardstock leaving a small offset.   These were arranged on the layout so that they draw the eye to each of the words.

I pulled embellishments from the collection and create clusters next to the each of the words.  I tried to color block the pieces, so it helps with the overall design.

I backed my pictures with 3x4 cards that matched the colors of the words that are next to them. Once glued in place, I created clusters  of embellishments of the same color as the paper behind the picture.

To finish the page, I framed the page with the b-side of the  Here We Go paper, added my lines of journal and enamel dots.  I love how the page turned out!  I cannot wait to keep on pulling a few more of my past travel memories, and document them using the new SAFE TRAVELS collection.  You are going to love the collection and how it enhances your stories!

MY SWEET GIRLS - Doodlebug Designs

For the love of rainbows -and black and white photos-! I am sure many of you share my love for a number of colors in an arch.   Well, as soon as the new FAIRY GARDEN collection arrived, I was totally in love with the colors and all the rainbow patterns ( plus the fairies, bugs, and everything nice that dreams are made of!!).  So, I quickly formed the idea on my head and pulled scissors, glue, and embroidery floss to create a page all about my Goddaughters (aka my littlest cousins!)

I drew the rainbow in a 8.5"x11"piece of copy paper, cut each strip to use it as a pattern for the patterned papers from the collection.  Once all the papers were cut, I glued them to a piece copy paper, created my stitching guide ( a thumb tack did the trick), turned on Netflix, and hand stitched away!

In addition, I drew a few clouds in a scrap piece of white cardstock, and added a bit of hand stitching around the borders.

I chose the Bubble Blue gingham/linen Pettite Print for the background, and simply started gluing everything to the page with a bit of foam adhesive.    The new Sunshiny Day Doodle Pop is probably a new favorite that I am going to need to curate in my stash!

Once the rainbow was set cascading into the clouds, The perfect spot for my photos just appeared!  I used the Sprinkles Vellum to back my pictures and added a few embellishments around them.   For my title, I combined pieces  from the Odds & Ends and Chit Chat packs with My Type stickers.     A few enamel dots and a few mini icon stickers complete the page.

I cannot wait to see what you all create with the gorgeous FAIRY GARDEN collection.  It is just what nice dreams are made of! Now, I am off to order a few extra pieces for my stash!
