'Tis the Season to Sparkle

Scrapbook layout created for Silhouette Savvy Series entry at Scrapbook Nerd     -  'Tis the Season to Sparkle -

Hello there,

I am up on the Scrapbook Nerd blog with a new entry for the Silhouette Savvy Series, this time i am showing you with pictures how to create a stand out stitched title using the Silhouette Cameo (no attachments necessary this time around).  To see the  post, just click here.

For this layout, i used the 'Tis the Season to create the title for this project.  Once i cut the image, I used some metallic watercolor to highlight the letters, and stitched away.  I had the negative part of a heart cut file, and  stitched around the edge, and mounted the pages and title on a paper from the Oh Joy collection from Pinkfresh Studio

I love this picture of my kids playing with the lights of the Christmas tree, so i used simple clusters from  the collection's add ons to frame the picture.

A simple cluster in the corner of the layout was enough to complete the page.  Here is the final layout (I love it!)

I am so in love with this layout.  You can see all the details of the tutorial at the Scrapbook Nerd blog.   Let me know if there is any questions on how this came together.

see you all soon!

Dream Girl

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - DREAM GIRL -

Hello there!

Happy New Year to you all!

It is my reveal week over at Scrapbook Nerd, and to start, I am bringing you a project about my sweet niece back when she was just a toddler.   I am using the beautiful Cute Girl collection from Crate Paper and a bit of mixed media to highlight this moment.  Here is a small video that shows you how this page came together, enjoy!

Here are just a few highlights on how the page came together.  First the background was created using watercolors on heavy card stock;  once the paint dried, a few stars were added using some modelling paste.

The cloud cut outs were created using the Happy Clouds cut file from The Cut Shoppe, vellum, and papers from the Cute Girl collection.

All decorations and title come from the different add ons of this collection:

To end the project, a few extra star stickers were added to the page, as well as the date when the picture was taken, and a few lines of journal highlighting the sweet moment between  these littles.  Here is the final layout:

I love the final look of this layout, and how the colors of the collection are vibrant and soft perfect to highlight  the sweet picture of my niece.
Don't forget to check Scrapbook Nerd to pick all the materials used in this layout.

2016

Scrapbook layout created for Clique Kits   - 2016 -

Hello there!

Today, I am up on the Clique Kits blog with a new layout (this was our monthly DT assingment) using this month's "Hey, Sugar" kit,and multiple pictures to wrap up 2016/   I have to say that i struggle with multiple picture layouts, but this came together rather easily.

Feel free to download the cut file/sketch for personal use.

To create this project, I played around in the Silhouette software until I was able to create a cut file /sketch that would house the 10 best moments of the year.   To create the background, I used only the circles in the cut file,  i set the machine to perforate the edges,so i could stitch around the circumference.

Next I used the top part of the cut file, and paper from  the "Hey, Sugar" kit to cut and back the  numbers.  To continue the look of the circles, I hand stitched around the numbers.

Before attaching the number cut-out piece,  I used my new typewriter to create the list of the top ten moments -chronological- of 2016.  Then I hand stitched the flap to the layout, and added small strips of paper to the upper and lower edge of the flap.

I had size the circles in the cut file to 2.25 in, so i printed all my pictures to fit within this limits.   I used a circle cutter to obtain the shape in the circles.   I played around with the pictures, until they were somehow balanced in the page.  I tried my best to color block the embelishment to the thread color used to hand stitch its respective circle.   Here is a look of the entire project:

These are some of my most beloved memories of 2016, and I love how i could combine all of them in one page/  The Clique Kit's Jauary 2017 kit. "Hey, Sugar" made it easy to finish this page/  So take a few moments to visit their website and check all the stuff they have available at their store.

As always you can contact me with any questions on how this came together.

Thanks for visiting today!
