HAPPY GIRLS - Doodlebug Design

Spring is here! and it is time to start thinking about all those happy and colorful celebrations together with family.   And what better way to bring a touch of happiness and color to a project than with the FAIRY GARDEN Collection.

This collection is one of my favorites, and perfect to document pictures of my littlest cousins -and the bond they are forming- in my gratitude journal.

I started by adding a piece of patterned paper to the bottom edge of my notebook.   I used the 6x6 paper pad from Lots of Love collection to build layers behind the photo.  I pulled a few floral pieces from the collections to create the cluster at the bottom corner of the photo.

For my title, I am combining Chit Chat  and Odd & Ends Pieces from Fairy Garden and adding a few MyType alphas.  Those little banners were perfect for this page!

I am using the half of the second page of my spread to add my journal lines.  I added a small cluster of embellishments to balance the rest of the page.  I just love how this turned out!

I cannot wait what you all create with all your Doodlebug Cuteness!

EVERYDAY DOCUMENTING - Doodlebug Design

I am an avid daily documenter.  Small format documenting is probably my most favorite way to keep my daily memories.   I keep a few different small format  albums throughout the year.  Today, I want to share a bit of my personal album, and how I am using the LOTS OF LOVE collection.

My personal journal this year is in a 6x8 format, and I keep a combination of pocket pages, small layouts and large photos in it.

For my first  project, I combined a large photo with a small companion layout, and as you can see it documents a cute mug, tea and coffee!!

The large Chit Chat pieces make perfect titles for the large photos.  Here, I added a few extra embellishments and one of the tea tags.

I opted for some Petite Print for the background of my page. I added one of the large cut apart cards to the page, then layered elements behind the photo before attaching it to the page.    One of my favorite stickers are the little mugs, so it was perfect to add it here!

I used the back of page to create a small layout using the mail theme of the LOTS OF LOVE collection,

I have tons of rolls of washi tape, but I honestly can say that the new stamp washi tape roll is probably one of my favorites... All the cute stickable stamp seals are to die for! and also perfect to layer

I am so happy when I find the perfect pieces for my projects, and that mail box was jut perfection!

I hope these have inspired you, and give you a small glimpse of my personal documenting.  Remember to document all your moments, and if you use Doodlebug cuteness, even better!

SO HAPPY TOGETHER - Doodlebug Design

It is almost time to celebrate all the things LOVE.  So, how about using the new LOTS OF LOVE collection to document Family love in a colorful and fun way.

If you are anything like me, then you either have a busy schedule, and/or do not want to waste any scraps of paper.   Well, I think I combined both this ideas in this page.

I started  by using the leftover paper from my last project as part of the background.  I simply frame it with white cardstock and glued it to the center of the HUGS and KISSES paper.

The two pictures were backed with scraps of the 6x6 paper pad (also from my previous project), and set on  the middle of the page.   My idea was to create guiding lines that will bring the eye of the viewer to the pictures.  So, I pulled pieces of Chit Chat to create my title and placed them to the left and right of the pictures.

I added some sprinkles along the title to bring more colors to the page.   The title pieces are large enough that they cover the entire horizontal line of the page.

To create the vertical line of embellishments, I used pieces of Chit Chat, Bits and Pieces, and Odds and Ends, as well as more Sprinkles.   Like I said, quick and simple and lots of left over pieces

I hope this inspires you to document your love stories using the new Lots of Love collection, even with scraps and in a quick way!

NOTES TO SELF - Doodlebug Design

Raise your hand if you are always jotting down little notes/reminders for your self!  If you are like me, then there is plenty of post it notes close by.  Well,  I wanted to bring some of those notes onto a page; and as soon as I saw the new LOVE NOTES Doodle Cuts and LOTS OF LOVE collection, I knew I could combine them in this page:

The small envelope and note dies in the LOVE NOTES Doodle Cut was perfect to create all the small envelopes and notes from the 6x6 paper pad. I even trimmed a few of the cut apart journal cards from the 6x6 paper pad to work inside the envelopes.

Once, I had all the envelopes and notes ready, I created a vertical line of them on my layout.  Pettite Prints are always the best way to add subtle color to the background. I wanted to focus on the color combination of soft pink and teal.

I added my photo to the center of the page, then used  the Love Notes Doodlebug to bring the idea of the page together.  All the new Chit Chat, Odds and Ends, and Bits and Pieces worked nicely together in clusters around the page.

With so much pattern in the envelopes, I decided to keep my title work simple. The My Type alpha are always a favorite font for title work.  All that it needed was a small sticker, and done!

What better way to add your journaling, than to write it in each of the little notes in the envelopes. I used each of the notecards to add some of the notes in my post if notes.

I love how this turned out, and I hope that this inspires you to check the new LOTS OF LOVE collection and all the new DOODLE CUTS ... you will love them!
