CHRISTMAS - Doodlebug Design

Just one more day until we celebrate the jolliest season of the year!   I am sure that you are all ready to take the photos, eat the food, open the present, and make the memories.  So what better way to relive them than to document them with the fun and beautiful TINSEL TIME collection.   I pulled some past memories of my children for today's layout:

I just love how this layout came together using a simple design and all the embellishments that I could add here.

I started by framing a piece of the coordinating cardstock with the Berry Merry, and Tinsel Time papers. Next, I pulled pieces from the Odds & Ends pack to create the light garlands under the bell bough at the top of the page.

I decided to back the photos with papers from the 6x6 pad, and then adhered to the base so that they sit right under the light strings.  I mixed diecuts from the Bits  & Pieces pack to create the large cluster to the right of the photos.

To complete the line of embellishments at the bottom of the photos, I added the cute reindeer Doodlepop to the left of the photos and then pulled a piece of Chit Chat to create my title.

A few Sprinkles around the embellishments complete this page.   I just love it! And I hope it gives you inspiration for your next crafty project featuring Tinsel Time!
I want to take this space to wish you all a blessed Christmas, and may 2025 be filled with joy and peace!

CHRISTMAS FAMILY MAGIC - Doodlebug

We are just a few weeks away from celebrating the jolliest time of the year!! So, what better way to patiently wait than to document past holiday memories with the new TINSEL TIME collection..   This collection is so cute, festive, and sparkly that it makes all your memories shine.   Here is what I have created with it

I wanted to bring some of the designs and shine onto my layout.    I simply pulled my 6x6 paper pad and got started on this page,

I used a metal die to create circle die cuts from papers from the 6x6 paper pad.  I wanted a smaller pattern in each of the circles, so they will read as a solid pattern for some of them.   Once I had the circles, I glued them to white cardstock then trimmed the page.   Creating a frame from the gray cardstock help to make all the details pop on the layout.

I used a grid style for my background.   I then placed my photo to the right of the center of my layout and  added just a few embellishments around it, so that the photo and the background will not compete for attention.

I added embellishments just to center rows of the layout, as I wanted to emphasize the line where the picture and title sit on the page.  A bit of foam adhesive and a few Doodlepops help to add texture to the page.  I also repeated the banner look of the title by scattering a few other ChitChat pieces on the page - a few Sprinkles help bring your eye to that detail-

I love the ChitChat pack in the Tinsel Time collection, it was just so easy to put the title work together.  I just added a few extra embellishments around it to make sure it pop from the page.

I love how this turned out, and I cannot wait to see what you will create with the new TINSEL TIME collection!

SWEET MEMORIES - Doodlebug Design

Fall is the season of all things cozy and warm, so what better than fresh baked treats and all the sweet memories that come with it!  I love all the baking icons in the FARMHOUSE  collection, and wanted to use them to document my daughter's baking skills

I pulled all the icon in a simple and clean design with a small twist.

I started my page with a basic coordinating cardstock, and trimmed it to about 10.5", then decided to frame the page with  the Farmhouse paper (cut to 10.75"). I then decided to cut two of the corners of the Fall Floral paper, so that I could tuck the framed cardstock.

I backed my pictures with papers from the 6x6 paper pad, but decided to anchor them to the page with the large journaling card from the Woodland berries paper.

Did I mentioned that the inspiration for this page was all the baking/kitchen icons in the collection!  Well, I pulled a few Odds & Ends pieces and mixed them with some of the stickers to create two large clusters next to each of the photos.

For my title, I pulled a few pieces from the Chit Chat package, and set it below the photos.   I love the color and font of the title as it does not compete with all the color and details in the icons.

To finish the page, I added a few sprinkles around each of the clusters and all it needs is the journaling lines.  I love how this turned out, and I hope it inspires your own creation with the beautiful FARMHOUSE collection.

FRESH FARM PUMPKINS - Doodlebug Design

We are diving into the coziest and loveliest season of the year, Autumn! So many memories to be made and documented during this season, and what better way than to use the new FARMHOUSE collection to create keepsakes with it.   I love the colors and designs in this collection, and was perfect to document this fun picture of my nephew at the farm

I wanted to use all those cute little pumpkins for this layout, while  still keeping it fresh and masculine.

I started by creating a cluster of paper strips from the 12x12 patterned paper  and 6x6 paper pad.  I adhered them to the light brown  color cardstock from the coordinating set.

Once, I placed my photo, I quickly added a few pieces from the Chit Chat pack and sticker sheet. I wanted just a small cluster at the top left corner of the picture.

Next, I added pumpkins from the Odds and Ends and Bits & Pieces pack along the bottom edge of the photo, so that they form sort of horizontal strip with the photo,

I combined pieces from the Chit Chat pack to create the title for my page.  I added a few more pumpkins to help me elongate the design and give the title a grounding spot on my page.  I took advantage of the smaller pieces from the Icons Sticker sheet to bring a few final touches to my page.

I love how this page turned out, and I hope it inspires you to take a closer look at the new FARMHOUSE collection. You will love it!

GHOUL FRIENDS - Doodlebug Design

Halloween is just a few days!  Time to get ready to celebrate and document all those fun and spooky activities with the beautiful HEY PUMPKIN collection.   I love the fun designs and colors from this collection, and were perfect to document this story.

Can you believe that I only used my 6x6 paper pad to create this layout!  I wanted to play with circles, and having a smaller patterned was just what I need it to make the photo pop on the page.

I started by trimming the stripe paper into two 6x3" strips and set them on the gray cardstock so they lay from left to right edges.  However, I set them so they are about 1" higher on the right side of the page.

Next it was all about the circles.  I simply cut  a few circles (with a metal die) from the 6x6 paper pad.  i layered a few of them with a second circle to create a frame like idea, and also to  minimize the patterns on the page.   I set them in a zig zag motion down the page.   Then placed the photo atop the two paper strips.

Then it was all about embellishing, I pulled pieces from the Bits and Pieces, Odds and Ends, to add interest to the circles.  I added stickers, puffy stickers and Doodle pops as I worked down the page.  For the title, I reached for large Chit Chat words and added extra puffy stickers to bring it all together.

I love how this layout came together so easily.  I cannot wait to see all your Halloween papercrafting.  Remember to check the HEY PUMPKIN collection!

HALLOWEEN - Doodlebug Design

We  are getting closer and closer to Halloween!! And though my kids -now adults- are no longer enjoying the night, I have little cousins who are eagerly waiting for all the fun.  What better way to document their little smiles than using the fun HEY PUMPKIN collection for this layout

You are going to be surprised to know that this page came together using leftover pieces of patterned paper!  I love using every inch of paper in my projects!

I trimmed two corners pieces from the Hey Pumpkin paper.  I carefully -using a craft knife- sliced a few lines between some of the color strips to just one of the corners  - I had measured and marked where I wanted to insert the paper, so I knew exactly where to create the slits-

Once I adhere the non-cut corner to the page.  I carefully weaved the piece of Peek-A-Boo paper through the slits before gluing it all the background.   Next, I backed the photo with patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad, and adhere to my page.  I took advantage of all the little ghosts in the collection to bring movement and extra cuteness to my page.

I had a large space to the left of the black mat, which became the perfect spot to add my title.  I capped the title with a large piece of Odds & Ends and sentiments from Chit Chat and the sticker sheet.  I added a few stars and spiders Sprinkles throughout the page to bring it all together.

I love how this turned out!  The perfect layout for those smiling faces.  I hope you, too, are using the beautiful and fun HEY PUMPKIN collection in your projects!

HALLOWEEN SWEET & SPOOKY - Doodlebug Design

It is time to get all those sweet & spooky memories captured and documented!  And what better way to do it than with the fun and colorful HEY PUMPKIN collection.   The colors and designs in the collection are just so cute, it was so easy to bring this layout together.

A grid design is always a great way to get pages created quickly and with amazing results.  My inspiration for the design was the 3x4 cards in the Sabrina's Socks paper.

I trimmed the cards from the paper, and using a craft knife took the center of them, so that leftover piece reminded me of frames.   I backed 3 of them with the white spiderweb paper from the 6x6 paper pad, and set them on a piece of light gray cardstock.

I used the fourth card/frame to house my photo, and set it in the top right corner of my grid.  I love the florals in the Odds+Ends pack , and used them to embellish my frames.  I am also using stickers from Icon sticker sheet to bring more embellishments to two of the frames, while leaving the last one empty for the journaling.

I decided to mix pieces from the Chit Chat pack to create my title at the bottom of the grid.   I then went around the grid adding Sprinkles and a few extra puffy black spiders to tie all the frames together.

To finish my page, I created two borders from the Peek-A-Boo paper, set them to the side of the cardstock, then glued it all to the Hey Pumpkin paper.  I love how it all turned out!  Be sure to check the HEY PUMPKIN collection.

Sep 14, 2024

Fall is in the air! And we are ready to capture and document the simple  details of our days. As the temperature is starting to cool down, it is also time to pull all those memories and document them in style.

I just love all the color and cute elements that complement the Halloween story in the photo.

I wanted to create a scene for the background of the page, so, I cut a piece of the EEK paper.  Next, I pulled papers from the 6x6 paper pad, and will play with the position of the chevron so it points towards the photo. I then set it all on the PEEK-A_BOO paper.

All the icons in the new  HEY PUMPKIN collection are nothing but cute, so it was easy to find pieces that help me with the story.

I love that fence helps to ground the layout, while adding to the cute/spooky factor of this layout.

One of my favorite pieces always come from Chit Chat packs,  The large moon easily becomes the title for this layout.  I simply added a few extra embellishments to bring it all together,

I just love how this all turned out.  Be sure to check the new HEY PUMPKIN collection.  I cannot wait to see what you will create with it!
