Fun in the Sun

Hi there!
Nathalie with you today bringing you a Summer/sunny layout.   Summer is slowly coming to an end, so why not bottle those happy, fun memories of the season in a bright and colorful page using a few of JustNick Studio cut files.

To start this page, i used some Vicki Boutin Art Crayons to create the ink/painted look on the background.

The background cut out was created by welding a few of the Sunburst Background 2 a few times together.  The paper that backs the center of each sun image comes from Fancy Pants' Poolside collection, and brings that sunny feeling to the page.

To create the title of this page, I pulled the Fun in the SUn cut file, and cut it from white cardstock.   To continue the Summer feel of the page, I used Fancy Pants  Hello Sunshine collection to back the letters iin the title.   The colors and patterns in the title balance the sunburst background.

Having a large and colorful title takes care of a lot of the embellishing on the page, so a few die cuts, sticker and stamped sentiments complete this page.

Love how this page just screams Summer Fun! Love the combination of cut files and fun summer patterrns.

Remember to stop by JustNick Studio to check for these and many new cut files available.   There is so much inspiration waiting for you!  As always, I am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

A Splash of Summer

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  -  A SPLASH OF SUMMER -

Hi there! Oh, the glorious days of summer are well spent at the pool!  well, at least my littles love to come over and spent their days at our pool, so the new Time to Shine cut file( available for free at Scrapbook Nerd storie) is perfect to document these precious memories.

I chose to use the large title in the cut file to express the sentiment of the page.  I made sure to enlarge the title so that it covers a large portion of this page, thus become the focal point of this page.

A few Distress Oxides and a stencil, the watery background was created on Marshmallow Cardstock from Bazzil.

While this dried, the title was backed with papers from the Poolside collection from Fancy Pants Designs. To add dimension on the page, the title was attached with some foam adhesive, then it was all about embellishing the page!

The Poolside collection is filled with lots of die cuts and ephemera pieces that are perfect to document those pool memories, so it was a breeze to create clusters on the page.

This page was so much fun to create, and it just screams Summer and good times.  Remember to stop by the Scrapbook Nerd Store to pick your free copy of the cut file,

Take care!

Love Today

Scrapbook Layout created for JustNick Studio  - LOVE TODAY -

Hi there!
Nathalie back with you with a new Summer Layout that combines a few of the beautifiul Just Nick Studio cut files and mixed media.   I found this picture of my sister and niece on the baby's first trip to Cuba, and wanted to take advantage of all the Summer colors to document it.

The colors of my girls bathing suits was the starting point for the background of this page.   So a bit of Vicki Boutin watercolor, gesso and iridiscent paste create the watery teal color in the background.

While the mixed media dried, the Tin Tile was used to create the lace-like cut out.  All i did was to move the limits of the cut file, so that it fits to a 12x 6 in. so that it can sit on the middle of the page.   This was then attached to the background with a bit of foam adhesive.

The title was created from the negative pieces of the Word Brushstroke cut file.  I had created a set of these brushtrokes for another project, and kept the word cut outs aside. A bit of gold watercolor makes them stand out on the page.

To frame the picture, clusters of ephemera and stickers from Fancy Pants' Hello Sunshine, Pink Paislee's Birhtday Wishes, and Crate Paper's WIld Heart were created around the picture.  I added a water colored leaf from the  Stem 4 cut file was added to elongate the lower cluster on the page.

I love how this page turned out.   The colors of the background are fresh and inviting, and all the small details just complement the summer feel of the page.

Remember to stop by the JustNick Studio store to check for all the cut files used in this page,  and do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions on how this came together.

Love Story

Scrapbook Layout created for Just Nick Studio  - LOVE STORY -

Hello there!

Let me  in on a little secret, today is my 18th wedding anniversary.  At first I was considering documenting one of our wedding pictures, but i thought that will not show the real us, so instead i picked one of out attempts at a decent selfie to tell the story of the past 18 years.

To create this page, I chose to use the title as the focal point of the page.  So I chose to enlarge to fit pretty much 2/3 of the page.

I chose the "Love" design from the WORD 4 cut file, and sized it to fit across the entire page.

The "Story" design from the WORD 3 cut file was then welded under the last two letters of Love, and then sent to the machine to cut.  I used a pair of scissors to trim the intersecting parts of the "L" and "V" from the O, and backed it with one of our latest selfies.

The rest of the letters were backed with papers from Fancy Pants Design's The Bright Side collection.  Before gluing it to one of the papers of the collection, I added a bit of Vicki Boutin art crayon to the background, so that all the details of the cut out will show nicely.

To finish a few embellishments were added to the page, so that the picture is framed nicely with them.  A few lines of journal complete the page.
I love how this turned out (I am a fan of large titles -one of my favorite designs!!), and how easy it was to put together using the beautiful and versatile JustNick Studio cut files.
Stop by the Just Nick Studio store to check these and the rest of their beautiful designs.
Have a lovely day!

Find Wonder in All Things

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd - FIND WONDER IN ALL THINGS -

Hello there!

It is time for a new round of  DT projects for Scrapbook Nerd (I love the owners of this store!!).   This time I chose to work with the Dream Big collection from Fancy Pants Designs to document a picture of my daughter as we experience some beautiful skies while flying to Ecuador.

I used a cut file from the Silhouette Store to create the large stitched title in the page,  A bit of watercolor brings the title forward.  Then I trimmed the cardstock and glued it to one of the papers from the collection.

I chose to distress a piece of the mat, and inserted a small cluster of ephemera so that there are small little spots of interest along the page.   Just loved the unexpected cluster.

To bring all the  idea of flying, I used pieces from the collection to create the clusters around the page.   I fell in love with the birds icons from the collection!!

I love how this came together.   The colors are dreamy, and all that stitching sings in my heart.   Remember to stop by the Scrapbook Nerd store to check all the materials used here.  There are so many beautiful products available at  the store.

I will be back in a bit with a surprise for you all,

take care!!

Sweet Things

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  -  SWEET THINGS -

Hi there,

Hope you are all doing well!
Scrapbook Nerd is hosting an online crop this weekend, "GAME NIGHT".  There will be lots of challenges and games being issued to all our followers.  My challenge is "Poker Night" which asks you to use circles in a project.

My challenge project starts with a background full of circles.  These were creating using the Full Circle cut file from the Cut Shoppe.   I just cut the circles in a small section of  the mat, and backed them with papers from Fancy Pants's Hello Sunshine collection.

To embellish the page,  a few drops of gold Nuvo liquid gel dots were sprinkled inside the circles, and small clusters of ephemera were added to the two right corners of the page.

The picture of  my son and the little was then placed on the mat.   A few clusters of ephemera were then created to frame the picture.   I chose to keep most of the pieces to a single color palette, so that it will pop from the colorful background.  Here is the final layout:

I hope you are inspired by the layout, and join us on this weekend crop at Scrapbook Nerd's Fans Facebook page.  We would love for you to join in the fun.

Remember i am always a comment away, if you have questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!

Fall Family Fun

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd -  FALL FAMILY FUN -

Hello there!

It is Fall week over at Scrapbook Nerd Friends and Fans Facebook Page.  So I want to show you my take on the theme.

It all started with a leftover cut out from the Cut Shoppe's The Trendy Trellis cut file.   I separated the cut file, and backed it all with different papers from the 6x6 paper pad from Fancy Pant's Family and Co, collection.

A little bit of mixed media at the top corner of the mat was then added with some distress oxides.  Just a small section of mixed media was added, so that it fit the picture only.

Once the mixed media dried, then I stitched the leaves' stems to the page just until they were about 2 inches from the corner of the page.  Here I used a few staples to attach the folded corner of the page to the mixed media.

I glued the picture to the folded corner, and then layered a paper from the collection behind the page, and added a few more pieces of the leaf stems.  A few embellishments along the picture and at the folded corner complete the page.

IF you follow my work, then you know i love this page, it is unique and so me.  Don't forget to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the materials used in this page, and stop by the Scrapbook Nerd Friends and Fans Facebook Page to see what the rest of the DT has been up to.

I am always a comment away  if you have  questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!!
