Altenew August 2020 Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Wax Seals Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there!
Welcome to the Altenew August 2020 Stamps/Stencils/Wax Seals Release Blog Hop + Giveaway.   You are arriving from Vicki's inspiring blog ( a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post).

Today, Altenew is releasing a new set of goodies that are going to inspire you to create -regardless of the format you use to express your creativity-.  With so many products to chose from, it was hard not to love all the products that i just had fun with the release and used it to create a few projects.  Let me show you...

I am pretty sure most of you are in love with the new BEAUTY WITHIN stamp and die set.  What can i say, " It is gorgeous!!".  So, it was fitting that i used it to document our 20 Year wedding Anniversary.

I used the Artist Watercolor palette to detail the images, and pair it up with sentiments from the DARLING ROSE Stamp set,and CAMP Life stamp set.  Just love how this turned out!

Lately, I have been playing with the Artist Markers re-inkers, trying to paint images with them.  Not as easy as it seems, so i decided to use one of the better images to create this card.  I simply used the NESTING OVALS DIE SET to create an oval cut out on the card panel, and frame the painting with it.

As you can see, i was experimenting with the Paint-a-Flower: Anemone Stamp and the reinkers.  The leaves need some work, but i love the details of the flowers.  I decided to cut a second oval frame to try and focus the card only on the flowers.  I finished the card with a sentiment from the new AMARYLLIS stamp Set.

I am not a card maker, but do enjoy playing with a few ideas -especially mixed media related ones-.  For this card, I heat embossed the DARLING ROSE stamp set, using Pure White Crisp Embossing powder, onto vellum.  In order to bulk up the image, i masked the original rose, and added a second next to it.

Here is where i decided to use a white gel pen to add extra shading and details to the back of the embossed image.   I added a few sequin and embossed a sentiment from the BEAUTY WITHIN Stamp set onto the kraft paper.

As soon as i saw the new CAMP LIFE STAMP and DIE Set, i knew that i could finally document a throwback memory of my kids's first Camping trip.

I simply used the Artist Markers set D and E to color the images and then scattered the die cuts on my family album along some  notes and pictures of the weekend.  Just love how this turned out.

The new WAX SEALS collection was a lot of fun to play with.  Trust me, i wanted to seal all the things.  Instead, i decided to create an envelope insert for my album with focus on documenting me.

I created this pocket page using the new MINIMALISM STAMP AND DIE SET as the embellishment.  I used the front of the envelope to create the large cluster of stamped images, and decided to use one of the wax seals  to hold it all together, and also work as the title for the page.

I used the back of the envelope insert to create the title of my second page. I love the ROSE GOLD WAX SEAL BEADS matched with the BLOOMING BUD stamp as they create the perfect embellishment for this simple page.

I actually wrote a long note to self style document and slipped inside the envelope.  I added a title and simple embellishments from the BEAUTY WITHIN stamp set.   This is probably one of my most favorite spreads of this release.

I love this new Altenew release; there is so much to choose from, and so much you can do with it, too!

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Daisy Release Blog Hop + GiveawayTod

Hi there!
Welcome to the Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Daisy Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!  You are arriving from the always inspiring blog from Caly Person  ( a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of the page).

Today we are celebrating the release of a new Craft-a-Flower set, "DAISY". This new flower die is amazing, easy to layer, and if you are careful enough when cutting, you can even use the negative part of the cut ( check the participants for some ideas).

Of course i always gravitate to memory keeping, and since i have lots of pictures of our Mother's Day i decided to make a small section on my album all about the day, and this is my cover page for the section.

I chose a warm color palette for the page, and cut all my flowers from color cardstock and then used a piece of vellum to glue and layered them on the page, making sure that they all fit within the album cover.

Once i had all the flowers secured, i used the Nesting Frames Die to cut a piece of kraft cardstock.  Here i embossed with Pure White Crisp embossing powder the sentiment from the Simply the Best Stamp set.  I tied the label around the page using Antique Gold thread.

The picture was sized to fit into the page of the album, and then i added a simple title with simple alphas.   Just love how the page turned out. The colors and texture just bring happy sentiments to this chaotic time.

THIS GIRL! - Citrus Twist Kits

Hello there!
August is here, and  that means lots of new kits and products have arrived at my doorstep.   This month's CTK Add-On kit is probably one of the sweetest ones, and i love it.  Of course, i had to go ahead and use it right away to document a recent picture of my niece!

I started by enlarging the  photo to fit a 4x11 picture of my sulking niece; i manipulated the picture, so that only her was in color while everything else around her was colorless. To further bring the focus to my niece, i used the Fresh Bouquet ephemera piece and added the gold photo corners to make the frame pop ( these are available at the CTK shop).  I added the embossed butterfly and a few more embellishments before adding a layered of patterned paper behind it (Simple Stories' Kate and Ash collection included in the add on kit)

Before gluing the picture down on the layout, i  used my typewriter to add my lines of journal.  I added the picture to the top of the layout, then used the Foam Alphas pieces of ephemera and cut apart elements  to create the title of the page right below the journal lines on the center of the page.

To continue to bring the focus to the picture,  i decided to cut a few chevrons from patterned paper.   Luckily, my old dictionary page ( included in the kit) had the word "kid", so i made sure to cut the chevrons to include the word.  I handstitched the  chevrons in place. I also fussy cut a few butterflies (these were created with the Digital ephemera on vellum) and i glued them to the chevron lines, so that they follow the direction to the picture.

I used the  Traveler's Notebook stamp to add a few extra sentiments to the page, and that completes the page.  I LOVE IT!

As always, please remember to stop by the Citrus Twist Kits Shop to check all the materials that i have used in this layout.

'til next time!
