I Am Woven By His Love

Bible Journal spread created for Citrus Twist Kits  - I AM WOVEN BY HIS LOVE -

Hi there friends,

Nathalie with you today sharing a bit of my bible Journaling journey with you all.   If you follow my blog or work, then you would know that i color in my Bible, but just recently started sharing a few of my faith related projects.

This month's Citrus Twist Kits Grace Box is filled withso many beautiful pieces that it was so easy to put together this spread.    As soon as i saw the "WOVEN" die cut in the ephemera pack, i knew that i wanted to document Psalm 140:13-14:

"For you formed my inward parts,
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well."

First i created the background for the page using the stencil set included in the kit, and Vicki Boutin's acrylic pop paints.   To get the soft look of the flowers, the paint was applied using a baby wipe.  Once it dried,  a bit of detailing was added using a black fine liner; this helps define the stenciled flowers.

To create the title of this page, I used a combination of the stamp set and alphas included in this month's CTK Grace Box, and then added the large "WOVEN" die cut in it.   All those puffy stickers are perfect to add some embellishments to the page.    I am not a clip-kinda-girl, but the kit had all this pieces of fabric that matched the colors perfectly, so I tied one of the pieces to a heart clip, and mark the page with this clip.

I love how this turned out!  The soft flower stencils form the perfect background for the sentiment  that this page conveys!.

Stop by the Citrus Twist Kits Shop to check this month's Grace Box.   It is so versatile that you will have plenty of goodies to transform your Bible entries and faith memory keeping.

AS always  let me know if you have questions on this was put together.

XO!

This Moment Makes My Heart Full

Scrapbook  Layout created for Just Nick Studio  - THIS MOMENT MAKES MY HEART FULL -

Hi there!
Nathalie here with the last  "Words & Phrases" blog post.  For the past two weeks we have been creating projects using some of the JustNick Studio cut files that feature words and phrases.  There are so many designs to chose from, and since i love a large (i mean fill the page with it kinda title!) title, this project was a dream to create.

Have i mentioned i love large title layouts?!!  There is something about telling a story in a few words with a large title.  So for this page, i welded the "This Moment" and  " My Heart is Full" cut files to create the large title in my page.

I cut my title from white cardstock, and trimmed the "is" word from the cut out using a sharp pair of scissors.   Each letter was backed with papers from the new Maggie Holmes collection, "Willow Lane".

Once, the cut file was set on the layout - the background papers are also part of the WIllow Lane collection- using some foam adhesive.  A few flowers from were scattered below the cut file as to create small clusters/embellishmnets to the cut out.  These were cut also from white cardstock using the Boho Florals cut file.   Love the softness this adds to the page.

Since, I wanted to keep the title and picture as the focal point of this page, my choice was to hide the journal lines in the litte tag that is tucked behind the frame.

Love how this turned out.  The use of white cardstock to form the cut out brings out all the details of the beautiful JustNick Studio cut files, and makes it pop from the colored background.
Remember to stop by the JustNick Studio store to check all the cut files used in this page.  If you have any questions on how this was put together, please do not hesitate to contact me!

Hello Friend

Scrapbook Layout created for Vicki Boutin DT  -  HELLO FRIEND  -

Hi there!  Nathalie back with you today to show you a new project created using the super beautiful “FIELD NOTES” collection.   By now, hopefully, all of you have received the collection and are ready to work some awesome projects with it.   Well, for today’s project I was inspired by a rainbow, and all those pretty butterflies in the “Take Flight” paper.

I love Vicki’s art crayons, and to create the background of this piece, I decided to use three crayons from the  Neutral set only.  My thought was to create a simple background, so that both picture and butterflies will be the focus of the page.

Using a gessoed foundation as a base, I used the three crayons to give the background a very neutral watercolor background.  I tried at best to keep the mixed media to the center of the page!

Once the watercolor had dried, the new “Ink Spill” stencil was used  to add a bit more interest to the background.   Using the same crayons and the stencil brush, I started to add the circle watermark stencil impressions to the page.  I chose to move the stencil a bit so that I can chose where each of the circles was placed.

Before adding the butterflies to the page, I used one of the New Stamps to add a few details to the background. My idea was to color block the layout  in a rainbow fashion – so I pulled both ink , so that the butterflies would follow that path.

I attached the fussy cut butterflies to the page using a bit of glue and then adding a bit of stitching through the center of each of them.  Along the way I added  a few stickers from the Field Notes collection trying at best to color block the arrangement of butterflies and embellishments.

To add a bit of interest to the picture, I created a cluster at the top left corner of the picture using some watercolor stickers, ephemera pieces and some stamped images.

I am in love with the black puffy thickers in the collection, so I chose to add the title of this page using one of the phrases.   A few lines of journal and a few drops of gold color shine complete this page.

I love how this turned out.   The neutral background is packed with small details that allows the fussy cut butterflies to shine.  The following video will show you how this came together:

That is all for me today.  I hope you all are enjoying the new Field Notes collection, I cannot wait to see what you create with it!!!
XO
