You Are Happiness

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - YOU ARE HAPPINESS -

Hi there!

It is time for a new project for Scrapbook Nerd.

This time, i chose once again Paige Evans's new collection, Pick Me Up, to create a page all about my niece's zest for life.

The background was created using a cut file from the Silhouette store.  Then each heart was backed with papers from the collection, but the larges heart which was backed with vellum.

Before gluing the cut out to the page, a bit of art crayon was added to the page so that the texture of the cardstock will show.  Vicki Boutin's crayons and stencil brush were used so that the colors matched those of the corrresponding heart.

Foam adhesive was then used to attach the cut out to the page, and add some exra dimension to the page. Then the picture was glued above the cut out.

The large vellum heart encases the title which is made up of stickers from the collection.    A few stickers were then added to the corners of the picture as to frame it, and also create a leading line on the page.

A few extra details from the collection complete the page and add the need shine and color to the page.  After the journal lines and some gold ink were added, the page was completed:

I love everything about this page, texture, color, and dimension all in one page.   As you all know i am a fan of Paige's collections, and you can find it all at Scrapbook Nerd, so stop by the store to check it all out.

Remember to contact me if you have questions on how this came together.

Take care!

My Week in Pictures #13

My baby and I,  he is my third child...

Hello everyone,

I hope you all are having a great Monday on your corner of the world.  Here in Toronto spring has yet to arrive,   it seems winter does not want to leave.  We are under a severe cold alert and have at least 5-10 cm of snow on the ground...

As usual, i have used the weather to my advantage when it came to capturing my life, here are some of the highlights.

We thought that glorious days like this (on Wednesday) were ahead.  Finally everything was budding, and long walks around the park were welcomed... Now everything is covered in snow once again.

My baby loves to walk along the river path behind our apartment building;  his thrill is finding little sticks he can play with and mess the carpet with.   Here he is showing off his latest find.

As always since i stay at home, most of my pictures revolve around my kids, but especially my little Poochie...  He is one of my muses, but lately he has been starting to lose power on his back legs, so we need to find incentives to have him walk and build some muscle.  I try to encourage him by bribing him with treats.

he loves these mini cookies

My son has been a soccer player since he was 6 years old.  Now at 15, he is still playing all year round, but life is starting to blossom for him, and slowly soccer is going to the backburner.  I am glad, I have carried my camera to every single one of his games, and have traveled with his teams.  So what better way to capture this chapter of his life than taking  a snapshot.

He is so tall now...

The weekend is the best time to capture  my entire family together.  This weekend because of the snowfall, we were indoors most of the time, so a lot of crafting happened.   I am so glad that my daughter is slowly learning to document her life, and is always finding her style.

Finally, i have to show you what i see some mornings from my balcony.   I am amazed at the beauty God has created and we don't appreciate...

I hope you are also picking up your camera, and capturing the little things of life...

See you soon

Project Life Week # 12

PL Week 12

hello everyone,

We have just celebrated Easter, and spring is rapidly coming.  Fortunately, I keep on documenting along with the season changes and holidays.  Here is my Project Life layout for this past week.

This small page protector works perfectly
to add pictures to a weekly layout

As always, when the holidays roll around, family always comes together and memories are created.  I had so many pictures to chose from this week, so i printed them in black and white so that I could use a pastel palette for all the cards used.

Some of the cards come from cut-apart patterned papers from different collections

Whenever I purchase a new paper collection, I try to get a double sheet of the cut-apart page, this way I can always use them in my PL layouts.   All the pastel cards come from different collections:  Dear Lizzy's Serendipity collection, Amy Tangerine's Stitched collection, Kaiser Craft's Blackberry collection, and Dear Lizzy's Neapolitan Project Life collection.

Here is the first two pages of the past week..

This week, I used a third page to document our Easter Sunday.  For this layout, I used an old patterned paper for My Mind's Eye from my stash, and cut it into the 3x4 card size.  I enlarged one of my favorite pictures of the day, and used it as the center image for the page....  I love the results, and might start to use this format for at least one of the monthly layouts...

I love the color  of the paper, and some simple embelishment were enough to complete the page...

I hope you are also documenting your life... See you soon...

My Week In Pictures #8

My kids and I at my nephew's 3rd birthday party.

Hello,

February has come and gone,  it seems 2016 is quickly passing by.  As always, my cameras have been busy capturing little glimpses of my family's life and our everyday.  Here are a sample  of the best of this week.

My little guy loves to sleep atop of the sofa,  especially once the kids are at school, and i bundled him up...
This is a quick snap of his daily routine.

This little one is the son of a good friend of the family.  Nicholas is 4 months old, and such a cute and good baby.  I try my best to visit them at least once a month, and always end with cards full of pictures...

This week my nephew turned 3, that means the entire family  got together to celebrate Mattita.  As always i took hundreds of little glimpses of the happy celebration.

He made sure to blow his imaginary fire.

Here he is being a "Momma's Boy"...  He loves to be in his mother's arms, and she is always willing to cradle him in...

These two crazy cousins are definitely made for each other.  It is nice to see them grow up together and how the relationship is getting stronger each day.

It is easy to see that i love my family, they are my favorite subjects to shoot. This picture by far is one of my favorites;  it shows my autistic little sister lovingly resting on my husband.  She barely smiles for pictures, but always likes to lean on Roger for comfort, and he always willingly lends his shoulder... How i love them both!!

My Hubby and my little sister.   She loves us all in her special way.

And finally,  I had to snap this shot of my daughter and I as we were about to leave and run errands.  It is funny that we both have the same taste in sneakers.  I think it is great, she is just not impressed with that...

We are almost the same shoe size.  She is the one on the right.

These are just  a tiny percentage of the over 500 shots from this week,  yes! i took over 500 glimpses of my life, and they will all be treasured for as long as i can enjoy them...  So pick up your camera, take a picture, cherish the little moments of your every day life.

See you next week!
