Moment Captured

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits -  MOMENT CAPTURED  -

Hello Crafty Friends!

Today is Pep Rally day for Clique Kits!
It is the opportunity to see what the DT, and subscribers have created with this month's JELLYBEAN kit.

One of  the papers in the Bella Blvd's "Make Your Mark" collection (Paint Me)  was the inspiration for this page.  The brush strokes and colors remind me of a graffitti  wall.   Since we live close to a bridge that has large amount of graffitti ( created by artist, and commissioned by the city), we do take walks, and pictures with this as the background.

Using a ruler, I created the block pattern to replicate that of a wall.   The dimension of each space was based on a 1.25x0.70 in  per block.  I randomly drew the wall, and used a paper piercing tool, to create a stitching guide.   I wanted the blocks to pop, so white embroidery thread was used to complete the background.

Once the stitching was finished, I simply cut the paint strokes to rectangles a bit smaller than the dimension of the stitching, and glued it to the page.   The picture of my daughter standing  in front of part of the mural was duplicated, so it can serve as a layer behind the picture.  I used some of the kit packaging to add more texture.  The ephemera, clips, and exclusive printables complete the clusters around the picture.

For the title of this page, I used the "Moment Captured" cut file and cut it three times out of white cardstock. I glued them together, and backed the cut with a piece of the same Bella Blvd. paper.   A few ink splatters, and my journal framing the entire page complete the layout:

I hope you can join us at the IG hop, and check this, and all the projects created with the JELLYBEAN kit.

Don't forget to check the Clique store for this kit, and lots of other beautiful products available at the store.

You Go Girl

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits  -  YOU GO GIRL  -

Hello everyone!

Happy Easter!

Today I am up on the Clique Kits blog with a new layout using the beautiful "JELLYBEAN" kit, and its exclusive cut files.  This time i picked the large phrase title to be the center piece of this page.

To make the title stand out, i added a small white border around the title (the offset).  The title was cut from the beautiful Bella Bld.'s "Magnifique" paper  -though the flowers are gorgeous, I was drawn to the colors and paint brush marks on the image-.  I made sure to cut the title from the center of the Magnifique page.

Once the cuts were glued together,  the edge of the title was pierced to add some stitching and texture to it.  After adding hand stitching to the title,  I set out to construct the page.   First,  i trimmed about 0.5in from two of the edges of a light pink card stock.  Then I used watercolors and inks to add some color to the background.

Once the background dried,  the title was attached to the page, making sure it sit right in the middle of the large watercolor background.  The picture of  my niece holding her art TN (she loves TNs as much as I do!) was placed above the title.  I used the exclusive printables, and ephemera included in the Jellybean kit, as well as the puffy stickers from the Make Your Mark collection that are available in the store, to frame the picture.

To finish the page, using the sewing machine, I stitched the  layout to the left over piece of the "Magnifique" paper, making sure to leave two opposite corners free .  These were folded into the layout to be used as part of the clusters formed here. I tried to use these corners to bring some of the colorful accents and embellishments from the Jellybean kit.  Here is the final layout:

Don't the colors and title work just pop  out of this page?  Though I love the roses, I wanted to take a different approach when using the Make Your Mark  "Magnifique" from the Jellybean kit in this layout.   I am so pleased with the end result, and i hope it inspires you to create stand out titles for your project.

Don't forget to check Clique Kits to register for a subscription (there are just some spots available) for their gorgeous kits, or sign up for their newer Traveler's Notebook kit.  You will love them! I am always a comment away if you have any questions on how this came together.

Right Now

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits  - RIGHT NOW -

Hello Clique friends!

Today, I am sharing a new project created with the beautiful "Jellybean" kit, and one of the exclusive cut files included in this month's kit; I think the entire DT is in love with this cut file, not to mention the colors and patterns in the kit!

This project is the happy result of the fusion of scrapbooking and Bible Journaling,  as it was created inspired by the  beautiful cut file, the colors in the kit, but above all Psalm 9:1, "I will give thanks to you , Lord with all my heart;  I will tell of your wonderful deeds"

To frame the beautiful flowers cut out, I chose to go all artsy,  and use a combination of watercolor, ink, stamps and gelatos to create the background of the page.  Using the packaging technique, some green ink was spread on the page.  A little bit of gelatos was then smeared on the  page using some water and watercolor

Once all these dry, I used the new Altenew's Daisy layering stamp, that can be found in the Clique Store - to add just a few of the outline  of the leaves.   I have created  a small video on how the page was created, so sit and enjoy!

I hope you like the video!  As you can see, even when i mistakenly  smeared ink on the page, the beautiful flowers (created with the exclusive cut file and Paige Evans' Oh My Heart collection  paper #14  -both included in the Jellybean kit- ) cover a large amount of the background, so the big smeared just becomes a hint of color under the flowers.

I created this page after working on my Bible journal,  and since I had just taken the picture for an updated head shot, i used the page as  a ways to journal about me and what i am thankful for.

For the title, the beautiful wood piece in the Jellybean kit fit this layout perfectly.  So i simply added a thin layer of gold acrylic paint, and then gold embossed the letters for that added shine in the page  ( i love the end result!).  Here is the final layout:

I am happy with the end result of this page (even when the subject of the layout is me!).  The inspiration i found in combining my Bible journey, the Jellybean kit and color soothes my soul.  I hope you like it, too!  If you are not a subscriber, there is still a few a la carte Jellybean kits available, so don't forget to check the store.

I am always  a comment away if you have a question on how this came together.

 Thanks for stopping by!
