It is sketch week for the Scrapbook Nerd DT. I usually like to freestyle my designs, but there are those times when a sketch provides so much inspiration, the page comes together in a heart beat, such as the case for this page.
The original sketch calls for a large title. I pulled a new cut file from Handipaper to create the title for this page. A bit of mixed media was all it was needed to create the marble paper that backs the letter's empty spaces in the cut out ( i used Yupo paper and watercolors from Pinkfresh Studio and Kuretake).
Both the background paper and the picture were backed by papers from the collection, and then it was all about assembling the page using the sketch as a guide.
I used the large title as a reference to glue everything else in place. The only change that i created was adding smaller cut files as replacement to the grouping of embellishments and paper strips.
To finish the page, i added a few mini alphas from a past Pink Paislee collection to complete my title, and added a few gold ink splatters. Here is the finished layout:
This came together rather easily and love how it turned out. I hope you try this month's Scrapbook Nerd Challenge, and check the materials used in this page in the Scrapbook Nerd shop. Remember to leave me a comment if you have questions on how this came together.
