Oh, The Places You'll Go

Scrapbook Layout created for Clique Kits -  Oh, The Places You'll Go! -

Hi there!

Today, I am up on the Clique Kits blog with a new layout using the beautiful "PLAY" kit.
This time, I used Dr. Seuss quote, "Oh, The Places You'll Go" as the inspiration, and title for this piece.

The colors in the PLAY kit are so vibrant, and cheerful, i had to use them all.  So the background was created using different Color Shine sprays and the packaging technique.  While the background dried, I backed a die cut -created with the Cut Shoppe's Arrows with Attitude cut file-.  Though i used papers from the collection, it was the branding strips at the bottom of the papers that worked to back the cut-out.

Next i used some machine stitching to secure the cut outs to the colorful background.   The picture of my little nephew climbing the a rope wall was framed with pieces from the kit, and add ons that I picked from the Clique Store.

For the title of this project, a simple font was used to create the quote using the specialty paper in the PLAY kit.   In addition, an offset to the image was created, and the letters glued to it, so that the title pops from the page,  Once again a bit of machine stitching holds the title in place.   Here is the completed layout:

I had fun creating this page, the entire kit was perfect to document my little nephew.  Here is a small video on  how this page came together:

I hope this inspires you to pick up the PLAY kit from the Clique Store.  Don't forget to check what the ladies have stocked in their shelves.  As always, I am a comment away if you have any question on how any of this came together.

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Bloom

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd   -  BLOOM  -

Hello there,

I hope you all are dreaming of Spring, just like I am at the moment.  I am always amazed at God's perfect creation, and its seasons.
Today, I am up on the Scrapbook Nerd blog with a new layout using the new  free "Spring Things" cut file -designed by the Cut Shoppe exclusively for the store-, a few techniques, and the new Maggie Holmes's Chasing Dreams collection.

The title of this page was created using the Bloom image on the cut file.  By simply cutting the image, adding an perforated offset, and using the edit points, the image was created so that the bottom of the word would be the bottom edge of the page.  A similar look can be achieved by trimming the bottom half of the image with a pair of scissors.

To create the background of this layout, a few color shine sprays were used with the packaging technique.  The floral image was then sized so that it replicate a lace layer behind the picture.

.

A piece of  vellum was layered between the patterned paper and the white card stock. A bit of machine stitching secures the page together, and continues the texture of the page.

The title was then backed with papers from the 6x6 paper pad Chasing Dreams collection.   Some hand stitching completes the look of the title.

The picture  (a 3x3 in portrait of my daughter) was then framed with embellishments from the collection.  Here is the final layout:

Isn't the cut file just beautiful?  It was the perfect complement to this layout.  Don't forget to stop by Scrapbook Nerd Store to pick your free copy of this cut file.  Yes it is a free cut file.  While at the store, check what the Nerds have stocked in their shelves, there is so many beautiful new collections available.   If you have any questions on how this came together, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for stopping by!

Boys - TCS

Scrapbook Layout created for The Cut Shoppe  -   BOYS  -

Hello!

It is a well known fact that scrapbooking is a mostly female focus business.  As a mother of a teenage boy,  i have learned to document his life using all types of papers, with the help of a cut file,     So, I set out to document a memory using some of cut files from The Cut Shoppe.

For this project I chose to work with a large title, so i welded the Open Letter Alpha with the Cozy blanket  cutfiles.  Once i was satisfied with the image, i cut it out in white card stock,  I then filled just some of the empty spaces with papers from Paige Evans new collection, and then backed the entire letter with vellum.

To add more interest to the page, I simply cut a strip of start using the Midnight Hour cut file on white card stock, and backed it with the papers used.   I then added the pieces to the title, making sure to tuck in the stars under the title letters.

A few pieced of ephemera and  stickers from Pinkfresh studio are perfect to frame the picture, and to complete the page,   Some extra details were also added to the page, here is the final layout:

I love this page.   The cut files were perfect to transform the paper to a more masculine page, especially when you play with a few of them,   Remember to check the Cut Shoppe etsy store to check was is being stocked in the shelves, there is so much inspiration in this cut files.

Thanks for Stopping by!
