Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - CREATE -

 Hi there!

It is time to start celebrating (inter)National Scrapbook  Day!  This is the equivalent to the NBA playoffs my son so much enjoys, but better!  The first project of the day goes to Citrus Twist Kits.

I was so drawn to the colors and designs of this inspiration board,  that i knew i could easily translate them into some mixed media for a background of a scrapbook page.

I chose to replicate the black patternn of the board using some acrylic paint that had been thinned out with water.  Then used a few Distress Oides, and an Echo Park stencil to create the colorful flower patten on top of the black stripes ( this resembles the colors and watercolor floweres that are in the board).  Then a bit of gold texture paste was added -through a stencil- to some parts of the background.

While all the mixed media dried and setlted, I worked on adding layers to a picture of myself playing wiht paper.  For this I used this month's PARADISE Add on kit, as well as this month's Patterned Paper play and  some of the free digitals available at the shop for NSD.

A third cluster was also added as to comtinue the line of the clusters on the picture.  I took advantage of the cut apart sheets to create a fun grouping that tells the story of the page.

Then used the foam thickers from rhe Paradise Add, as well as the Add-on stamp ro create the title of this page. Just look at the final layout:

Just loved how this turned out!  The colors and texture oif the page are just like the ones in the inspiration board.  Remember to check Citrus Twist Kits for all the beautiful projects and challenges.

Now, it is time to continue creating.  HAVE AN AWESOME NSD!!

Winter Baby

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd   - WINTER BABY -

Hi there!

Hope you are all doing well.  It is theme week over at Scrapbook Nerd, and this month all our creations are inspired by this mood board created by Joy:

All the colour and textures made me think of snow and winter, so I pulled a picture of my nephew, Echo Park's A Perfect Winter collection , and a Paige Evans' cut file Design ID #233761 ( I know it says faux flower in the design, but i see stars/snowflakes) to create this page.

I started by backing the cut file on a piece of paper from one of the Simple Stories pads, and then started lightly folding some of the edges of the cut file as to form stars.   My choice was to somehow recreate a snowfall on the picture.

I used some of the papers from the collection to back the picture, and then layered embellishments in clusters at the corners of the picture.

To complete the visual triangle in the page, a small cluster was added to the top of the corner of the page, and used the space below to add the journal lines.

For the title, I pulled some of  the chipboard stickers, and added some alphas from  Fancy Pant's Millie and June collection.   A few extra snowflakes, and some gold ink complete the page:

I love the whiteness and texture of  the page.   Remember to check Scrapbook Nerd for all the materials used in this post, and also join us for this month's challenge on the Scrapbook Nerd Friends Facebook page _ it is based on this mood board, and the winner will take a GC to the store_

Let me know if you have any questions, I am always around to answer them!

Take care!
