WINTER - Simple Stories

Hi there!  Nathalie with you today with  a new layout that is all about combining the beautiful and rich tones of the new Simple Stories Winter Farmhouse collection.    I love this collection, and knew that i want to make a layout all about my niece and her love for snow.

It all started with a cut file from Paige Evans, which was enlarged to fit to the page.  I cut this from white cardstock and backed the empty spaces with different papers from the beautiful Winter Farmhouse collection.

For the background, i chose to trim a bit of the edges of the Feeling Frosty paper and framed with the
Cuddle Up paper.   Here i glued the title on place  and started working on embellishing the page.

The picture was backed and layer with the Snowed In paper and paper from the 6x8 paper pad, and then nestled between the side letters of the title.  I used all the embellishments from the collection to create small clusters around the picture, just love the floral designs in the collection.

I also used a large embellishment cluster at the start of the title, just so that your eye goes through the entire page and brings all the charming detail forward.  I just love how this came together, and all the beautiful patterns are perfect to bring the outdoor feel to the page

I  hope this inspires you to check the new Farmhouse collection from Simple Stories, you will love all the patterns, colors and designs in this collection.

XO

LOVE YOU TO PIECES - Technique Tuesday

Hi there!
My friends at Technique Tuesday are having a special sale on all their Thanskgiving Stamps over the next few days! I took the opportunity to create a layout for my Life Crafted album using the beautiful Love You to Pieces stamp set and Pieces of my Heart die.

As soon as i read the sentiments of the stamp set, i knew exactly what i wanted to create and the ideal photo for it.   I pulled a paper form Citrus Twist kits and used the  Threaded Crafting Dies to create the scallop edge on the paper .

I set the picture at the center of  the page, and chose to add a  label, cut with the Essentials Stitched Labels Crafting Die Set,  to which i stamped a sentiment from the Cosmo Stamp Set .   I kept all the embellishments and papers very monochromatic so that the picture will stand out on the page.

I decided to create a pocket page for this layout, and used a 3x8" insert to add my title and journal cards.  I backed each space with the same paper and then used  the PIeces of My Heart Crafting Die  to create the puzzled heart die cut, and glued it to the card.  I then stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock and glued it to the heart outside of the pocket.  I just added a few enamel dots to complete this card.

For the journal card, i used a pre-made card (CTK) backed it with the same paper used on the picture page, and then used the Essential Stitched Label Dies set to add a subtitle to the card using the Love You to Pieces Stamp set.

Just love how this turned out, and how the lovely monochromatic background brings forward all the details in the stamps and die cuts.   Remember to stop by the Technique Tuesday Shop to take advantage of their sale on all Thanksgiving stamps.

Let me know if you have questions on how this came together,

XO

HYBRID SCRAPBOOKING - Citrus Twist Kits

Hi there!

Nathalie with you today with a few layouts of my Life Crafted album using the beautiful AT MY TABLE kit.   I love paper, but i think i equally love digital files, having the chance to build and customize my pages always comes in handy when you do daily documenting.   Every month CTK subscribers get a lot of perks that can easily stretch your kit and help you create one-of-a-kind pages.  Let me show you...

For  my first page, i chose to work with the cut files (available for free to subscribers) to help me create my spread.   First of, i wanted to add lots of journaling  - all about my son and his tree- so, i used the Digital TN paper  as the base for my 3x8 insert.

I created the 3x8 insert in Photoshop, then added the Digital TN paper, followed by my lines of journal.    For my title, i used one the  sentiment from the Picture Perfect cut file by simply using the PNG format of the cut file and sizing the title to fit on my page.   After printing it, i backed the insert with a paper from the Life Crafted kit and slipped in the pocket.  A small chipboard sticker was then added atop the pocket at the bottom of the page.

For the picture side of the spread, i enlarged the picture to fit to the page, then cut one of the Life Crafted screens from white cardstock.  I backed the screen with the picture and used a black fine liner to emphasize the writing on the cut.   A small cluster of ephemera complete this page.   This was easy and really time effective when putting together.

Let me show you another idea:

As soon as i saw this floral pattern in the kit, i  had this idea for one of my spreads.  So i used the Digital PL cards to create the two sides of the page.   For the right side, i enlarged the 4x6  digital PL card to fit to the page, while the left side of the spread was built using the 3x4 digital  PL card.  I enlarged two of the 3x4 cards, and rotated one so that i could complete the left side border with the patterned -if you see up close, you could see where i joined the cards-.

To build my page, i decided to cut a panel of vellum to fit inside the page, and cut one of the 4x6 cards from the Life Crafted kit.  The picture was then glued to the card and a small cluster of ephemera and puffy stickers complete this page.

For my lines of journal, i simply typed them when i was building my pages, so i can print them all at once, but chose to add my title by mixing the puffy stickers from the At My Table kit with some stamping using the Typewriter font stamp set from CTK.  Once again, completely in love with how this turned out.

Remember to check the Digital Shop to find the files used to create these layouts.  As always consider subscribing to Citrus Twist Kits as you will have access to so many perks that will stretch your kit each month.
