Beautiful Things are Everywhere

Traveler's Notebook layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - BEAUTIFUL THINGS ARE EVERYWHERE -

Hi there!

It is TN week over at Scrapbook Nerd, and if you have been to my blog lately then you know that i love Traveler's Notebooks, and just finished wrapping my Gratitude Journal.  Well, so how about one more entry to the Fall notebook using some of the new products available in the store.

I started by using the new Thankful Leaves die from Concord and 9th to create the vellum leaves used in this page.  Once it was cut, i used some Distress Oxides to bring the colors of fall to the die cut.

Once they dried, they were glued to the top and bottom corners of the page.  A stickers from the new Indigo Hills 2 collection and a few enamel dots -from the same collection- complete the title page.

Now, for the picture side of the layout, I decided to play with the color of the jacket i am wearing in the photo, and pulled the Gorge paper from the Indigo Hills 2 collection to back the page.

A layer of vellum separates the picture from the background.  A few other small leaves cut from vellum and some of the collection embellishments help create the small clusters at the corners of the picture.

To keep the clean look of the page, i decided to create a pocket when gluing the vellum to the background.   Here I used one of the journaling spots from the collection  to add my lines after the photoshoot.

Love the texture and color combo of the page!  If you are still unsure about TNs, then let me tell you it is such a beautiful and versatile format to work with, and it can be taken everywhere!!!

AS always let me know if you have questions on how this all came together.  Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check for all the materials used in this page.

Everyday Moment

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  -  EVERYDAY MOMENT  -

Hi there!

It is a rather busy week here in my blog, and there is still so much to show you!  But let's start with this week's inspiration for Scrapbook Nerd.   They just stocked the new Indigo HIlls 2 and the Liquid Watercolor set from Pinkfresh Studio, so, i had to used them both for this project.

First I used a bit of the watercolors  to pick the dark plum and purple tones of the collection onto the background for this page.   I used a gessoed sheet of Bazzill Marshmallow cardstock for the base of this page.

While the background dried, I went ahead and used cut files from Just Nick Studio and various papers from the Indigo Hills 2 collectiom.  Then used some foam adhesive to attach it to the background so that it will pop off the page.

The Glen paper from the collection was used to obtain the large floral elements of this page.    These were used as accents around the title and picture.

After adding a few stickers and layers behind the picture.  I chose to add my lines of journal in a small journaling spot and then use a small glasine bag to house it. This was attached in between the paper layers behind the picture.  Here is final layout:

I love the color, the flowers, the picture of my daughter and nephew together.   Stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in this page.  And remember you can always contact me if you have questions on how this came together.

Darling Just Believe in Yourself

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - DARLING JUST BELIEVE IN YOURSELF -

Hi there!

Today's series of projects are up on the Citrus Twist Kits blog.  I fell in love with the Ridge paper from Pinkfresh Studio's Indigo Hills 2 included in the Little Things kit, and wanted to use it to the max, so i created 2 very different pages using the one sheet as inspiration.

For the  first page, the Pinkfresh Studio liquid watercolors were used to create a bit of color shadow in the background of the cut outs created with one of this month's free CTK cut files.

The flowers of the cut file were backed using the b side of the paper and vellum.   I was very careful when cutting out the paper as i wanted to use the hexagons on the A side of the page.

I used embellishments from the Indigo Hills 2 ephemera, sticker and wooden sticker sheets as well as the Willow lane puffy stickers to decorate the page, then added a few stamped sentiment using this month's Add-on stamp around the page.

I love how this turned out, as it is soft and very muted just like the b side of the paper, the following video will show you how this was put together:

Go Live In Wonder

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - GO LIVE IN WONDER -

Hi there!  It is time for a new Sunday Sketch over at Citrus Twist Kits.   For today's blog post, I joined Trina and Emma with my take on the sketch.

I love this month's Little Things scrapbook kit, so i chose to play with some of the papers in the kit to create the layers behind the pictures.

Since i wanted the crosses in the sketch to show in the design, i used some Pinkfresh Studio watercolors to create the background for this page on watercolor paper.

The blue almost purple backgroung was the perfect color to bring the details of the crosses.  For this i used an old Heidi Swapp stencil and some modeling paste.  While the paste dried, i fussy  cut some of the crosses from the Little Things Scrapbook Kit, and attached them to the background with some foam adhesive.

I changed the location of the journal lines with that of the title.  This time, I brought some of the gold accents to the wood piece included in the kit, and added a few die cuts and exclusive stamp images.

Love how this turned out, as the sketch was  a great building block for a page of your own.  Stop by Citrus Twist kits to check the other takes on the sketch and to check all the beautiful kits!!   AS always i am a comment away if you have questions on how this was put together.

This Simple Promise

Bible Journal page created for Citrus Twist Kits  - THIS SIMPLE PROMISE  -

Hi there!

The new Citrus Twist Kits have been revealed, and as usual i had to have them all!  My first project each month usually is the one with the Grace Box, and this month's Grace Box is filled with beautiful papers and stickers from the Indigo Hills 2 collection,   a set of puffy black words from Vicki Boutin and the awesome stamp set.  So right away, I pulled my bible and look for Psalm 128: 1-2 to create this page!

"Blessed are all who fear the LORD,
who will walk in obedience with Him.
You will eat the fruit of your labour;
Blessings and prosperities will be yours."

Right away, i pulled my Pinkfresh Studio liquid watercolors and decided to create a rainbow look to the entire page making sure not to cover the verses that i was highlighting.

While it dried, I fussy cut the leaves/vines from one of the Pinkfresh Studio papers,   I made sure to leave a small white edge around the leaves so that they will stand out on the background.

Once the page dried, I glued the vines to create the frame on the page, and then used a combination of the Vicki Boutin Puffy thickers and the stamps set to add the title of this page.  Then just added  a few of the enamel dots and stickers around the page.

There were some pieces of vintage fabric included in the kit, so i used the paper clip (also included in the kit) to create a marker to the verses.  Using a white gel pen, create a bit of cross hatching around the entire page, then added a few lines of journal based on what i had been studying about the verse.

Love how this turned out.  Simple and poignant to cover one of the LORD's most simple promises; to be blessed as long as we work and walk on his name.  How loving is our GOD!

Remember to check Citrus Twist Kits for all the materials used in this page.  Kits will start shipping this weekend!

Have a Blessed day!!!
