Happy Leftie

Scrapbook Layout created for Vicki Boutin DT  - HAPPY LEFTIE -

Hi there!

This week's installment of Vicki's magic is coming straight from my blog (just causeVicki is sharing some of her magic and enjoying some sun down in Puerto Rico), if you have never been to my blog, welcome!

I don't know about you, but sometimes inspiration hits you when you least expect it, which is the case on this page came together.   Let's just say, I am glad we invested on some studio lights for filminng, because this page happened pretty much at midnight!

It all started with a gessoed foundation paper, and a rainbow of acrylic color pops.  I wanted a messy rainbow on my page, so i pulled the straight waterbrushes and some white acrylic paint, and started adding small brushtrokes of each color to just a section of the page.

I mixed the orientation of the strokes so that they crossed and mixed on the page.  To bring in some shine, a bit of gold glaze was also added to the page.   A bit of white acrylic paint was added to tht glaze so that it can be easily applied with the brushes.

Once the paint dried, i started to work in adding some texture.  For  this a mixture of iridiscent glaze and white acrylic paint wasrun through the dangle stencil. I wanted to create little rows of white texture on the page.

Once the texture dots dried, i used gold and black ink to add some stamped images to the page.  I started with the dotted circles from Vicki's latest stamp release, and then used the rotary stamp to add some sentiments and that small row of circles that is included in the stamp.  To bring out some of the color in the background, i used the Art crayons to scribble some dashes around the spots where the colors muddled a bit; this completed the background:

Love the texture an messy look of the background, that all i could think about was my nephew's scribbles as he is learning to write, so I pulled a picture of him and decided to make it the star of this page.

I layered a few pieces of the 7x10 paper pad behind the picture, and then added a few embellishments so that they look as cascading from the top of the page.  Gotta love all those colorful and watercolor stickers from the All the Good Things collection.

Next I added the title using a combination of the glitter foam and chipboard stickers and a few lines of journal.  Since the page was a bit bottom heavy, I decided to trim a piece from the top, and in its place add a strip of paper at the bottom of the page, and then anchor the page with a small cluster.  Here is final page:

Sometimes inspiration hits at the worst of times, and in this case, I rolled with it, and love this funky background.  The next video will show you how this page came together (forgive the lighting, honestly this page was created at midnight!!)

I hope now you leave here a bit inspired.  Remember to check Vicki's products they are amazing, but above all play with the mediums, mix them up;  the wow moments will come from experimenting.

Thank you so much for visiting,
