FRESH FARM PUMPKINS - Doodlebug Design

We are diving into the coziest and loveliest season of the year, Autumn! So many memories to be made and documented during this season, and what better way than to use the new FARMHOUSE collection to create keepsakes with it.   I love the colors and designs in this collection, and was perfect to document this fun picture of my nephew at the farm

I wanted to use all those cute little pumpkins for this layout, while  still keeping it fresh and masculine.

I started by creating a cluster of paper strips from the 12x12 patterned paper  and 6x6 paper pad.  I adhered them to the light brown  color cardstock from the coordinating set.

Once, I placed my photo, I quickly added a few pieces from the Chit Chat pack and sticker sheet. I wanted just a small cluster at the top left corner of the picture.

Next, I added pumpkins from the Odds and Ends and Bits & Pieces pack along the bottom edge of the photo, so that they form sort of horizontal strip with the photo,

I combined pieces from the Chit Chat pack to create the title for my page.  I added a few more pumpkins to help me elongate the design and give the title a grounding spot on my page.  I took advantage of the smaller pieces from the Icons Sticker sheet to bring a few final touches to my page.

I love how this page turned out, and I hope it inspires you to take a closer look at the new FARMHOUSE collection. You will love it!

GHOUL FRIENDS - Doodlebug Design

Halloween is just a few days!  Time to get ready to celebrate and document all those fun and spooky activities with the beautiful HEY PUMPKIN collection.   I love the fun designs and colors from this collection, and were perfect to document this story.

Can you believe that I only used my 6x6 paper pad to create this layout!  I wanted to play with circles, and having a smaller patterned was just what I need it to make the photo pop on the page.

I started by trimming the stripe paper into two 6x3" strips and set them on the gray cardstock so they lay from left to right edges.  However, I set them so they are about 1" higher on the right side of the page.

Next it was all about the circles.  I simply cut  a few circles (with a metal die) from the 6x6 paper pad.  i layered a few of them with a second circle to create a frame like idea, and also to  minimize the patterns on the page.   I set them in a zig zag motion down the page.   Then placed the photo atop the two paper strips.

Then it was all about embellishing, I pulled pieces from the Bits and Pieces, Odds and Ends, to add interest to the circles.  I added stickers, puffy stickers and Doodle pops as I worked down the page.  For the title, I reached for large Chit Chat words and added extra puffy stickers to bring it all together.

I love how this layout came together so easily.  I cannot wait to see all your Halloween papercrafting.  Remember to check the HEY PUMPKIN collection!

HALLOWEEN - Doodlebug Design

We  are getting closer and closer to Halloween!! And though my kids -now adults- are no longer enjoying the night, I have little cousins who are eagerly waiting for all the fun.  What better way to document their little smiles than using the fun HEY PUMPKIN collection for this layout

You are going to be surprised to know that this page came together using leftover pieces of patterned paper!  I love using every inch of paper in my projects!

I trimmed two corners pieces from the Hey Pumpkin paper.  I carefully -using a craft knife- sliced a few lines between some of the color strips to just one of the corners  - I had measured and marked where I wanted to insert the paper, so I knew exactly where to create the slits-

Once I adhere the non-cut corner to the page.  I carefully weaved the piece of Peek-A-Boo paper through the slits before gluing it all the background.   Next, I backed the photo with patterned paper from the 6x8 paper pad, and adhere to my page.  I took advantage of all the little ghosts in the collection to bring movement and extra cuteness to my page.

I had a large space to the left of the black mat, which became the perfect spot to add my title.  I capped the title with a large piece of Odds & Ends and sentiments from Chit Chat and the sticker sheet.  I added a few stars and spiders Sprinkles throughout the page to bring it all together.

I love how this turned out!  The perfect layout for those smiling faces.  I hope you, too, are using the beautiful and fun HEY PUMPKIN collection in your projects!
