Scrapbook Layout - You're Loved Little Toto -
A side view of the many layers on the layout |
Hello everyone,
I still have a lot of pictures to document from my nephew's birthday and Easter ( I took over 650 pictures all together on just 2 days), so I picked the one of my little Toto (that is his nickname) blowing his candle for this layout
Recently i purchased Simple Stories' Heart collection, and i knew that it will serve to document his birthday, as the colors match perfectly. To begin this layout, I used the Guy Stuff cut file from The Cut Shoppe exclusively created for Scrapbook Nerd (I am designing for this retailer for the next 6 months) to cut a large star inside target circles. Using the outer circle of the target, I used Silhouette studio to add some words around the perimeter (my title), and sent it to perforate so I could hand embroider the words.
I used yellow, teal, blue and gold as they are the colors featured on the paper collection |
After the title was stitched, I added clear gesso to the page (i washi taped the stitching) and added color shine in mint, navy, teal and mustard -with the packaging method- to add a watercolor effect to the center of the page. I added splatters of the same colors following the corners of the star.
I matted only the stars with vellum, and added stitching just to the middle of the stars. I attached it to the layout with foam dots to add height to the layout |
The picture was matted using only papers from the Heart collection from Simple Stories and a piece of folded waxed paper. All the embelishments come from the collection. I cut the presentation page to create tags, and added the matching stickers.
I used the PL cards to mat and layer the picture, The tags and banner was created by fussy cutting the presentation page of the collection |
Even though the page is busy, I felt that i needed to balance the page and added a small cluster to the opposite side of the picture. I used the branding strips to cut banners, and pieces of the left over cards. I also cut the word heart from the sticker sheet title.
a simple staple was enough to attached the little cluster |
Finally I added the date and journal lines under the picture. I love the results, in hind sight i should have - could have - made the cutout smaller. I still love the results, and I hope you like it too.
See you soon
