Hi there! Today, I want to share
with you all a bit of my new obsession,
my “Junque Journal”. This little
gem is the perfect place to get inky, practice techniques, create art journal
pages, etc. I am addicted to the
format, and the versatility of the it, and this time I wanted to combine some
scrapbooking and art journaling in one single page.
To create this page, the entire inside of a Mixed Media insert was
primed with gesso. Then using the
blending sponge, a soft background of acrylic paint (Daiquiri Ice, and Blue
Hawaiian) was created by adding the paint in soft circular motion to the page,
so as to resemble clouds.
Since the inspiration for the page came from circles found in a recent
selfie, I chose to add a few circles to the page using the Cool set Ink
Palette, and Vicki’s new Stamp set. Most
of the stamped images were placed on the right hand side of the page.
To continue with the circle motif of the page, I chose to add some art crayon to the left
hand side of the page. The new stencil
brush is so easy to work with, and provides the right amount of color, and
definition of an image, especially when using it to transfer color through a
stencil.
The circle design of the stencil contrasts and combines seamlessly with
the paint background, but the page also
needed some texture. For this, and using
one of the citcle stamps, Acrylic Matte
gel was stamped to the page followed by medium gold glitter. All the shine and texture completes the
background.
A small frame –created with the 7x10
paper pad- and a piece of gold tissue
frame and serve as layers behind the picture. A few
embellishments just add the right sentiment and feel in the page.
Now that the inside of the page has been created, it is time to focus on
the front/fold piece of the page.
Firstly , it was covered with a piece of paper from the 7x10 paper
pad -a bit of Acrylic Mat Gel serves as
glue for this purpose- followed by a few pieces of ephemera and a series of
butterfly stamps in the colors found in the inside of the page.
Oh! I am loving the possibilities
the Junque Journal is presenting. It is
so versatile, and the perfect place to get inspired. That is all for me today! Remember to check all of Vicki’s mediums and “All The Good Things “
collection. Everything is
gorgeous! If you would like to see
how this page came together, the following video will give you a more in depth
look on how this page came together:
See you all soon!!!
