EXPLORE JOURNEY ROAM - Simple Stories

 Hello Friends!

Nathalie with you today! I am sure we all are dreaming about traveling at this moment.  Unfortunately, many of us had to cancel or postpone travel plans.  Thankfully, scrapbooking is a sure way to relive your past adventures, and the new Simple Stories' SAFE TRAVELS collections is sure to help you document them in style.   This new collection is amazing, versatile and perfect to document our first day at the beach in my native Ecuador.

I always love to unpack my kits on the table before I start working -having a view of the entire collection  always brings ideas to my  mind-.  That is how I zoned into the Foam Stickers, especially the large words. As a group they form a large focal point for the page.

Once I set them on the center of the 2x2 4x4 paper, they formed the perfect spacing for the pictures, and offered a nice color blocking design on the page.

One of the most repetitive elements in the collection are arrows.  So, I decided to create my own chevron/arrows for the page.  I used a ruler and pencil to draw them in papers from the 6x8 paper pad, then cut them out.   I glued them to white cardstock, and using a thumbtack  created a stitching guide.  A bit of handstitching  adds texture to each shape.   The last step is to cut them out of the white cardstock leaving a small offset.   These were arranged on the layout so that they draw the eye to each of the words.

I pulled embellishments from the collection and create clusters next to the each of the words.  I tried to color block the pieces, so it helps with the overall design.

I backed my pictures with 3x4 cards that matched the colors of the words that are next to them. Once glued in place, I created clusters  of embellishments of the same color as the paper behind the picture.

To finish the page, I framed the page with the b-side of the  Here We Go paper, added my lines of journal and enamel dots.  I love how the page turned out!  I cannot wait to keep on pulling a few more of my past travel memories, and document them using the new SAFE TRAVELS collection.  You are going to love the collection and how it enhances your stories!

XO
