PINKFRESH STUDIO APRIL 2020 CHALLENGE

Hi there!
I think with our new reality, we are all lost in the changing times.   It is April, Spring is here and hopefully we are all enjoying the comforts of our homes in hopes to stop the spread of this deadly virus.   Today, Pinkfresh Studio is launching their April Challenge, and this month we are inspiring our projects on a sketch and the Noteworthy color palette.

My first choice was to flip the sketch so that the flower cluster sits on the top left quarter of the layout.   I chose the b-side of the Right Now paper as the base for my page.

Following the sketch i used a bit of gesso to prep the page, then added ghost stamping (Fruitastic stamp set -PFS) on the white space before adding the splatters of watercolor to the page.  I stayed in a more masculine palette for the background.

While the background dried, i used the Florals and Leaves cut file to create the large diecut florals for the page.  I cut the outline from white cardstock and then used papers from the collection to back just the large florals.  I also created a hexagon shape/outline from the white cardstock just like the one used in the sketch.

All that was left to do was assemble the page.  I used dimensional adhesive to attach the pieces to the background.  I framed the picture with a paper from the collection and then nestled it in between the florals.

I kept the embellishments minimal, as the large florals are already  a large focal point on the page.   Instead i chose to create a large title combining alphas, ephemera and layered embellishments from the collection.

All that was left to do was add a few enamel dots on the page, and  a few lines of journal.  I love how easy this page came together using the Noteworthy collection, a bit of mixed media and this month' s sketch as inspiration.

Remember you can join in the challenge and have a chance to win gift certificates to the shop.   all you have to do is create a project inspired by the sketch and link it to the PFS blog..

I cannot wait to see what you create!

STAY SAFE

  1. Hello from Crystal Lake Illinois USA! I love your scrapbook page. Your entire layout and interpretation is phenomenal. My favorite it the layered background and how the word just tumble down the angle. Lovely.
