ALTENEW BUILD-A-FLOWER: CROCUS Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there!
Welcome to the Altenew Build-A-Flower: Crocus Release Blog Hop + Giveaway.   You are arriving from Therese's blog.  (there is a list of all the participants at the bottom of this post).

I love release days especially when i get to play with florals, and the BAF:Crocus stamp and die set is sure to be not just beautiful, but one of the easiest flowers to layer and create, so you will be creating lots of projects with it.  So, let me show you what i created (and probably some of my favorite projects to date).

Did i mentioned i love this stamp set?  well for my first project, i was inspired by my Goddaughter's outfit to create this page.   My idea was to frame the picture and title with the Crocus florals.

I started by creating  masks of the stamp set -using the dies- to create the border of crocuses on the page.  This time only the outline stamps of the Crocus set were used with Altenew inks (Cosmic Berry, Rose Petal and Lapis Lazuli sets)to create the border.

This paper in the Live Your Dream collection was also part of the inspiration, so to tie both sides of the layout together, a few Crocus flowers were stamped and die cut, however the leaves are from the paper collection.   I love how this turned out, and created a video to show you how it all came together, enjoy:

How sweet is this layout!.  I used the same idea of the border to create the base for this card featuring the BAF: Crocus Stamp set.

I chose to only use the outline stamps and masks to create the border of the card on pink cardstock with Blush and Rouge Altenew inks.   I wanted the card to have a soft background  that resembled that of a soft  edge of  Crocus bouquet.

I chose to not add any leaves on the stamping, just the closed flower image.  For the sentiment, i wanted something that would stand out; so, i used clear embossing powder on dark pink pigment.  A few rose gold drops complete this card.

I love the simplicity of the card, and it took no time to put this together. Now for my last project i decided to use the entire BAF: Crocus stamps and dies for this.

This layout combines a few of my favorite things: florals, mixed media, a dark background and lots of texture and dimension.   My color palette was dictated by Spring and the original color of my niece's dress belt. So i pulled about 6 sets of the Altenew mini cubes and stamped the images to later cut them with the respective dies.

The background was created with the Altenew watecolor palette with added texture from white crepe paper that is under the flowers.  The following video will show you  how it came together:

I just love the vibrant colors in contrast to the dark background,   and make the entire page stand out.  Like i mentioned this new BAF: Crocus release is one of my favorites, and i am sure they will be yours, too.
