Hello Awesome You.

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - Hello Awesome You -

a close up of the layout

Hello there...

this is my last post of the month for Scrapbook Nerd ,  I had so much fun working with all the pretty paper and embellies, especially Jillibean Soup's Healthy Hello collection.   It has such nice patterns and add ons, that i had to build a second layout with it.

I was inspired by the feathers in one of the papers, and the cut-outs, so I went ahead and used trace paper to copy them.  I trace them onto white cardstock, and used a paper piercer to create a stitching pattern.  Using matching embroidery thread,  the feathers were hand stitched to create the background paper.

I used trace paper to copy the feathers in the cutouts, and then transfer them to the cardstock.

Using some of the papers on the collection, I created layers behind the pictures of my daughter (on her first day of her Orthodontic treatment -though she was in pain, her face never showed it; hence the title-).  I traced the same feathers on vellum and used markers to define the feather;  a little handstitching help to add interest.   A few acrylic pieces were also attached with a few stitches to follow with the design.

Lots of stitching in this layout.

In order to balance the piece, I added a small cluster of all the papers (even some part of the packaging) to the upper corner of  the layout.  I used a few punches to create decorative borders and attached everything with a sewing machine.

For the title, I used part of the stickers that came in the kit, and chose to add some acrylic pieces (which i colored with a pink sharpie).  I also added a large vellum feather with gold stitching to tie in the feel of the layout.

the vellum feather was created by tracing the cut-outs from the collection

Finally, I stitched my lines of journal and added a few pieces of wood cut-outs to complete the piece.   Here is the final layout:

So in love with the final layout...

I hope that you take a look at the collection, it is really a beautiful set of papers, acrylic pieces and wood veneers.  I am sure the ladies at Scrapbook Nerd will be more that willing to help with the order.  Please contact me if you have any questions.

See you soon!!
