Enjoy The Moment

Scrapbook Layout created for Vicki Boutin DT  -  ENJOY THE MOMENT  -

Hello Everyone!
Nathalie with you today with a new layout that combines clean lines, with a bit of inky mess in a very masculine way!    Let’s just say this page is a journey as it totally changed as it was created, but still show you how easy is to combine and work with all of Vicki’s amazing products.

This page started with a different idea in mind, but happy accidents happen for a reason.   Well this page stared with a  gessoed foundation paper  on which I added some watercolor (#13, 14 15) in sort of a column.

I had the idea of creating a small stenciled look behind the picture, and worked some of the acrylic pop paint (Blue Hawaiian and Saltwater Taffy) and water to use as ink to stamp the stencil on the page with.

Here is where I lost focus and over stenciled the page, so I decided to let it dry, and then use a Just Nick Studio cut file to cut  the title out of it.

Then I pulled a new foundation paper and masked it as to create a sunburst for half of the page.

The circle stamps, and the cool ink wheel were used to add interest and playfulness to every other triangle in the sunburst

Then to bring a bit of shine to the page, and mark the crisp lines of the sunburst, I added a bit of iridescent glaze to the watercolor in the palette, and used it paint the empty triangles of the sunburst.

Once it all dried, setting the layout was super easy.   Just a few paper layers behind the picture ( they come from the 7x10 and 12x12 paper pads)

Next clusters of ephemera were added to the corners of the picture, so that they add sentiment to the page, and also help create the visual triangle of this page.

A few foam adhesive squares help prop the title on the page.  To balance the page, a few pieces of paper were stitched to the layout so that they meet at the center of the bottom line, where one last

I love how masculine and clean this page is, though there is a lot of Vicki Magic behind it.  The following video will show you a more in depth look on how this came together:

I hope this serves as inspiration to pull your Vicki Boutin goodies and start playing with them.   Remember there is always something fun to create, and mistakes can always be worked into a page.
