Scrapbook Layout created for the Cut Shoppe - BE YOU -
Hello there,
The weather has been beautiful the past few days here in Toronto, and that has me thinking of the upcoming Spring season, especially flowers. So i set out to create a layout all about my crazy daughter who just like flowers is slowly taking shape into a young woman... For this project I pulled out some papers from the Take me Away collection, and two of the Cut Shoppe's cut files, "Flower Delivery", & "Just Be You".
To create the background for this page, one of the flowers in the "Flower Delivery" cut file was used by copying and welding it in a cascade shape . There is also graduation on the size of the flower as to give the idea of depth to the layout. The image was cut on white card stock trimmed to 11.5x11.5in. Using papers from the Take Me Away collection, the background flowers were also cut. To assemble, the negative part of the cut was attached to a green paper from the collection (so that when the petals of the flowers are lifted, the paper will show as leaves behind the page.
To secure the flowers in place, and to add color to the page, the centers of each flower were stitched creating a pinwheel effect to each of the flowers.
The title of this page was constructed using the "Just Be You" cut file. This time, the cut file was sized and printed on trace paper. Then using a piercing tool, a stitching guide was created, a few coats of metallic watercolor before stitching complete the title.
This is what i get when I point the camera towards my daughter, so chose to create simple clusters around the picture using pieces from the Take Me Away collection. The journal lines were written on the small green edge that shows on the side of the layout. Here is the final layout:
I love the end result of this layout. The Cut Shoppe's cut files lend movement and interest to the page. Don't forget to stop by the Cut Shoppe's Etsy store to check all the cut files available, there is always inspiration to be found. As always let me know if you have any questions on how this came together.
Thanks for Stopping by!
