Mug Shot

Scrapbook Layout for Scrapbook Nerd  - Mug Shot -

A close up of the layout's details

Hello everyone!,

as my reveal week at  Scrapbook Nerd continues, I have chosen to work with Jillibean's Healthy Hello collection.  I love this collection, so much that i got all the pieces (not the stamp, though) i could get a hold of.  The designs are colorful and vibrant, and the can be use for all kinds of projects.

Once I received the collection, i knew right away, that my love for coffee and my fave mug had met its partner in the beautiful paper with the mugs in it.  So i pulled a picture from my catalog  that features my fave mug for this layout.

To create the background, i used the Road trip cut file from the  The Cut Shoppe.  I used the heart hexagon to create the background.  First I released the path, and copied the outside hexagon.  Then I added a 0.135 in offset to the new hexagon shape. I made sure to make paths to the heart hexagon and the new hexagon.  I weld the pieces as I pleased, and then went on to back them with papers from the collection.

The hexagon and picture details.

Once i had them set, I attached them to the layout using a layer of foam in the back of the hexagons (this added dimension to the layout).   I added lots of  cut-outs, stickers and wood pieces from the collection.  The mug cut-out was also cut from a cut file from The Cut Shoppe  called the Cuppa of Joe.

For my title, i once again used the Java script cut file from the Cut Shoppe to cut the Mug Shot phrase.  I cut three phrases with the same dimensions.  I had some leftover foil from another project, so using the Decofoil marker I foiled one of the cut outs, while i glued the other two cut outs.

the messy look comes from using leftover foil from another project.

Once the piece was foiled, I glued the other cutouts on top of the foiled piece making sure that there was a little bit of the foil shown at the right edge of the words - i wanted to keep the white look of the title, but wanted to give it some interest-.  I then tucked the title under the set of hexagons.

Even though the title is white, the hint of foil make it stand out from the background.

To complete the page, I added  a cluster of cut outs to the top right corner of the layout, and a few pieces of wood and stickers along the hexagons.   I even used one of the hexagons to add my journal lines.

the finished layout

I really enjoyed working on this layout, and it came together rather easily with beautiful results.

I hope you like it, too.

Till next time,

Happy crafting!!
