Life Is Wonderful

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - LIFE IS WONDERFUL -

Hi there!

Today, I am up on the Citrus Twist Kits blog along with Mary Garcia to bring you a take on this week's sketch.

Sketches are a great starting point for building layouts rapidly, and that was the case with the one created here.   I simply adapted the 8.5x11 sketch to fit into my 12in preferred size by adding some white cardstock (12 in ) as a base.

Since the sketch had so much negative space, I thought that i could replace that large piece of paper by using an 8.5x11 picture of my kids while in vacation in Ecuador.

Once i made this two adjustments, I pretty much followed the sketch  to construct this page.   For the picture cluster, I used Photoshop to edit the large picture, and to create a second picture of just my teens (i cropped the image and just printed the small section were my babies were standing), then used the  frames from the Turn the Page Ephemera pack to layer the picture in between them, and glued the cluster straight onto the picture (making sure that the smaller picture lined up with its original position on the larger one.

To build the title of the page, I used this month's CTK embellishment kit to add the large strip of Turn the PAge collection washi to a piece of white cardstock and then trimmed  it.  This month's stamp was perfect to add the small sentiment that completes the title.

I kept true to the sketch and used pieces from the kit to add all the small clusters at the corners of the page, as well as all the stars in the page.

To complete the page, i used the ticket sheet , and branding strip of the papers in the kit to create the layers behind the picture.

I love the graphic look of the page!  And to think it was all inspired by a simple sketch.  I hope you stop by the Citrus Twist Kits blog to check Mary's take on the sketch ( it is awesome!).  If you chose to play along with the sketch, remember to share your page in the CTK gallery or the Facebook Fans page with today's date on the title.  I cannot wait to see how this sketch inspires you!

We will be seeing each other shortly.

Take care!

Spooky

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd   - SPOOKY -

Hi there!

Today, I am up on the Scrapbook Nerd blog with this layout that brings Halloween and mixed media together.    Can you believe we will be celebrating Halloween in a week!?!

You all know i am a fan of cut files, and i have a large  library filled with many different styles.  For this project, I pulled a free cut file  (Patchwork Pumpkin) from Paper Issues.   Once I created the cut file from white cardstock, I was about to back it with paper, but decided instead to use a bit of mixed media behind the  shape.  So  a bit of Distress Oxides were used to create this background.

Once the background was dried, I went ahead and stitched the cut out to the mixed media background.  To bring more of the Halloween feel to the page, the background mat was trimmed by a half an inch, and then stitched to one of the Amber Moon paper's  from Prima Marketing.

All the embellishments and papers in the pictures come from the Pink Paislee's Spellcast collection (which by the way is a super cool theme collection!).   Gotta love those gold alphas from the collection.   But instead of talking about it, why better i don't show you how this page came together, so sit and enjoy:

I really love the look of this page.   It is Halloween with a modern twist!!  Remember to stop by Scrapbook Nerd to check all the materials used in this layout ( there are a lot of new products available in the store shelves).   As always I am a comment away if you have questions on how this came together.

Take care!

Everyday Smile

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - EVERYDAY SMILE -

Hello there!

I hope you are all getting ready for the upcoming Holiday season!   Around here that means trying to put a dent on the memories-to-scrap folder.  This time i am using this month's Citrus Twist Kits's "Good Vibes" main, embellishment, and Patterned paper play kits to document a picture of my daughter on her 14th birthday.

The inspiration for this page was the Maggie Holmes's Carousel collection ribbon included in the CTK embellishment kit.  I just used the color to create a background for the page, and then the velvety texture of the ribbon gave me the idea of softness, so I chose a flower lace cut file from the Silhouette store.

Once the background was set on the page, I used a few pieces from the kits to frame the picture and add small clusters to the picture.

Since the mixed media was created to guide the eye to the bottom of the page, I used the edge of the white cardstock to add my title using a combination of Turn the Page collection ephemera, and the alphas from the Carousel collection clear stickers.   Then trimmed the cardstock, and attach it (with a few lines of machine stitching) to the Bella Blvd, Gratitude Documented  paper that matched the color of the ribbon.  Here is the final layout:

The end result of this page is soft and subtle.  I am still amazed at how a small piece of ribbon inspired this page. It came together so easily by combining these month's CTK kits (most kits have sold out, but be prepared to start a subscription in November - the upcoming kits are gorgeous!!!)

Remember, I am always a comment away if you have questions on how this page came together.

See you all soon!

Life is Amazing

Scrapbook Layout created for Just Nick Studio  -  LIFE IS AMAZING  -

Hello everyone!
Nathalie with you today with a new layout that focuses on the love my two younger babies have for each other.

As soon as Nicole showed us this month's cut file designs, I was completely in love with the new "Loopy Circle Background", so I cut two of the designs from white cardstock, then backed the circles with vellum and papers from the new Cocoa Vanilla Studio's Bohemian Dreams collection.

.

Once the cut outs were attached to the page on a diagonal,  the title was stitched to the page using the "Life Is Amazing" cut file.   A bit of watercolor helps to add definition to the title, and makes it pop from the page.

Finally  the picture of my little ones was added. Since there is so much going on the background, i chose to back the picture with a small cut out from the "Infinity Hearts" cut file, and a few embellishments from the collection.

I love how the circles form the perfect background for the page, and bring the picture forward.  All the new designs being added to the Just Nick Studio store are divine, are so easy to work with. Remember to stop by the store to check them all.

I am always a comment away if you have any questions on how this came together.

See you all soon!

Magical Fall Moments -CTK

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  - MAGICAL FALL MOMENTS -

Hello Everyone!  Nathalie with you today, and I am so excited and grateful to share my first blog post as part of the 2018 CTK Design Team.

What can I say about this month's Good Vibes Kit, besides that it is gorgeous, colorful and so versatile.  But if you are a patterned paper lover (as I am), then the Patterned Paper Play kit is what you need!.   Once I saw the color combo on these papers,  I knew that i could bring an Autumn page with a twist easily together.

It is not the traditional colors of an Autumn wreath, but it works perfect for the season.   I had a few white cardstock  leaves cut outs left over from previous projects, so I decided to use a simple Fall leaves cut file from the Silhouette Store, to cut  the leaves from papers in the Patterned Paper Play kit, as well as the main kit.  In addition, i use the same cut file to cut the same number of leaves from white vellum.

A bit of ink blending on the vellum leaves brings the colors of fall in a softer way to this page.  Once The wreath form was set, then a few machine stitches held it together.

To bring in the golden hues from the season, the chipboard alphas were colored using some antique gold acrylic paint.  Just love the color combination! -which may also work for all our friends enjoying Spring in the Southern Hemisphere.

If you would like to see how this page came together, just enjoy the following video:

I hope this serves as inspiration to use all the colors in these kits to put a modern twist on a classic.  Remember to check the Citrus Twist Shop for these kits.  I am a comment away if you have any questions on how this came together.

Take care!!!

Adventure

Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - ADVENTURE -

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing with you a new layout created for Scrapbook Nerd using the super cool and beautiful Escape the Ordinary collection from Pinkfresh Studio.

Upon receiving the collection, i was drawn to the Observed paper.  All the triangles gave the idea for this layout, so I used the Geo Globe cut file from the Cut Shoppe to obtain the cut out used in this layout, and backed the spaces with a simple palette of colors and vellum.

I cut a piece of the cut out as i attached it to the layout, and then placed a picture of my kids on our vacation next to it.  I used the same picture as a layer for the picture, and added a few pieces of ephemera around the page.

To continue the triangle look of the page, i folded a small corner of the layout, and used a piece of same paper from the  6x6 paper pad to line it behind the fold. a few more details complete the page:

This page is simple, and modern, and brings all the eye and attention to the picture.   I love it!!  Remember to stop by the Scrapbook Nerd Friends and Fans Facebook page to see what the rest of the DT has been up to.   All the materials used in this page come from Scrapbook Nerd, so check out the store to see what is available in their shelves.

I am a comment away if you need assistance with the how this page came together.

See you all soon!

My Personal Journal

Traveler's Notebook Spread created for Citrus Twist Kits  - MY PERSONAL JOURNAL -

Hi everyone!

It is finally feeling like Fall here in Toronto, and I am enjoying it all

Today, I am bringing you a new entry to my personal journal created for Citrus Twist Kits that shows my love for Fall, and how excited i was to see the first signs of the season.

It all started when i found the "Abundantly Blessed" paper from Illustrated Faith in the Patterned Paper play kit, and fell instantly in love with the acorn designs, and all the beautiful little sayings on the acorns.    Since I had used a large piece of it for another project, i used the leftover piece to serve as a mat on the TN.

Then used the b side of the paper to mat the picture, and glued it to the page along with some of the embellies from the kit.   To complete the page, the corner opposite the picture was folded in, and a cluster of ephemera and exclusives was added to form the title.

This month's stamp (included in the main kit) worked perfect to complement the page.  I love how this came together...  The paper, and all the ephemera worked seamlessly to bring this page together.

Remember to check Citrus Twist Kits to see all the details in the kits (all October's kits have sold out, but you can start a new Subscription in November - the kits are beautiful!!!-), and all the inspiration available in the blog.  I am a question away if you have any questions.

Take care!!

Love Him

Scrapbook Layout created for Citrus Twist Kits  -  LOVE HIM  -

Hi there!

I hope you are all doing great!

Today, I wanted to share with you all a new project created with this month's GOOD VIBES main kit from Citrus Twist Kits.   The kit is just packed with papers and embellishments from Pink Paislee's Turn The Page collection, as well as Crate Paper's Carousel collection.

Once I saw the large title in the 'Radiant' paper -Crate Paper-, i knew it was going to become the title for one of my pages.  So I cut the "LOVE" part of the title, and treat each letter as a sticky note in my page.

A bit of  mixed media on top of the CrissCross paper (a CTK exclusive) brings all the cluster details around the page. Gotta love all the ticket stubs from the Crate Paper specialty paper included in the kit.

There are so many exclusive  embellishments in this kit, that it made this layout a breeze to come together.  Not to mention all the CTK stamps used in this layout.   Just gotta love how versatile, and easy they are to work with.  I have created a small video to show you how this page came together, so sit back and enjoy:

I hope the video gave you a closer look at the kits available at Citrus Twist Kits,  many of them have sold out, but there are still some available, so stop by the CTK store to subscribe to the upcoming kits.

Remember I am a comment away if you have questions on how this page came together.

Take care!
