Scrapbook Layout created for Scrapbook Nerd  - "1"  -

Hello everyone!

It is time to join us at Scrapbook Nerd Friends and Fans facebook page for a new challenge.  This time is all about Skinny Dipping... Not the clothing type of stripping, but the one where you only use ink, stamps, dies, and cardstock to create a project of your choice.

I saw a video on how Paige Evans created a layout with just stamps and stitching, so I scraplifted her page.  I drew a large 1 (in a letter size paper), and cut it.  Using removable tape, I attached to some white cardstock,  and used different stamps and inks to create images all around the number 1 shape.

Once all  the ink dried, before removing the 1 cut out, a piercing tool was used to create a stitching guide around the perimeter of the number.  The cut out was then removed, and the entire perimeter got stitched using 6 strands of embroidery floss.

Here is where i went a step beyond Paige's page, as I created my own embellishments with dies, stamps, and Inks.   The Maya Road dies were used to create the flowers, leaves, stars, hearts and arrows used in the clusters around the picture.

After cutting the pieces, a bit of diluted ink was used to colored the die cuts.  While the die cuts dried the  Pinkfresh studio Lovely Borders was used to create the two sentiment banners used in this layout.  Here is the final layout:

This layout is different, and a bit challenging from my usual ones.   I hope you join us at Scrapbook Nerd Facebook page, and take upon some of the challenges.   There is always a prize to be won at the end of the crop.

As always, let me know if you have questions on how this page came together.

Take care!!
