Altenew Paint-A-Flower: Iris & Watercolor Essential Set Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there!
Welcome to the ALTENEW  PAINT- A-FLOWER: IRIS & WATERCOLOR ESSENTIAL SET Release Blog Hop + Giveaway.  You are arriving from Virginia's blog, and i hope you are inspired by her beautiful creations - a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post-.

This month's PAINT-A-FLOWER: IRIS is just such a beautiful addition to this new collection.  The details in  the design are delicate and perfect for all sorts of projects.

I love the simple movement of the flower, so i  set to create a card for my first project.  I stamped the  PAF: IRIS image on heavy white cardstock using Obsidian Pigment ink, and used the new WATERCOLOR ESSENTIAL 12 Pan Set to detail it.  Once i was done with the flower, i used the pan set to add a wash of color to the card.

I cut my panel in such way that the lower flower is off the panel.  At the same i used Altenew's Antique Gold Metallic Spray to add splatters to white cardstock, and layer a piece of it under the finished card panel: then used colored cardstock to create the card.    To finish, i added a stamped sentiment from the PAF: IRIS  set followed by a few scattered sequins.

It is not secret that i love watercolor, so what better way to create a fun page for my journal than to use the new 9x12 WATERCOLOR PAPER PAD and the WATERCOLOR ESSENTIAL 12 PAN SET to create an entry for my Family Album.

This time, i created a rainbow explosion on the page, by adding water and then pigment so to create the blooming effect of the color on the page.  Once the watercolor dried, i used coordinating inks and the Linear Stencil to create the tone on tone background detail.

All it was left to do was add the pictures, followed by a simple title and sentiments from the PAF Iris set.    Just love how easy it was to create the background using the watercolor paper pad and new palette set.

For  my last project, i wanted to try the newWATERCOLOR ESSENTIAL 12 PAN SET  and the new WATERCOLOR PAPER SET in a no-line watercolor card.  So i used masking paper to create the cluster of flowers using the Fabulous Florets and  Limestone Ink;  then spent a few hours detailing each flower with the new watercolor set.  You can see a very condensed video of the process as follows:

Though the process of no-line watercolor is longer than usual watercolor detailing, it is relaxing and so satisfying.  The quality of the products makes it so much more pleasant to complete the task.

I hope these have inspired you to check the new PAF: IRIS Stamp set, and all the new WONDERFUL WATERCOLOR  release. They truly are a beautiful addition to the Altenew family of products.

ALTENEW MARCH 2020 STAMP/DIE/STENCIL RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY

Hi there!
Welcome to the ALTENEW MARCH 2020 STAMP/DIES/STENCIL RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY.  You are arriving from Justine Hovey's blog - a list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post-.

Today, Altenew is releasing a new set of goodies that you are going to love, there is even paper packs and inks!!!  As usual, i had so much dun working with some of these, so let me show you what i created, starting with a few simple cards:

Sending Blessings:

I used the new PYSANKA stamp set to create this card - perfect for Easter-.  I love the intricate design in each of the images, and how easy it is to piece it together.  So, i pulled a few inks (Sweet Dreams, Sea Shore, Pocketful of Sunshine mini ink sets) to build the inside of the design.  Then heat embossed the outline of the image (Enchanted Gold ink and Crystal Clear embossing powder)

Once i cut the images, i used navy cardstock to create the card panel.  I trimmed a strip of paper from the A LOVE of STRIPES set A paper pack, and set it at the bottom of the card followed by a piece of 1in Gold Foil washi tape.   I heat embossed one of the sentiments on navy cardstock, and glued it to the card, then used foam adhesive to attach the images.  A few gems complete the card.  I love the colors of the eggs, and how easy it came together.

Love you:

The new TREBLE LOVE DIE SET is one that i think i will go back to regularly.   I love the music element of the die, and decided  to keep the card simple.  I started by creating the card front by running washi tape ( Sweet Dreams) leaving a small gap between the strips.

I cut a small card panel from white cardstock, and then used metallic papers and the Treble Love die to cut all the elements.  I used a  bit of foam adhesive behind the pieces to create a bit dimension in this simple card. A few crystal drops complete this card. Just love the CAS design!

Let's now look at some Scrapbooking and memory keeping

Joyful Today:

I just love the design of the new SWEET NOTHINGS stamp set.   These flowers are large and the perfect size to embellish a Scrapbook Layout.  I stamped the images with Obsidian ink , and detailed them with the new Artist Watercolor Palette set.  While the flowers and leaves dried, i used some handstitching to form the heart in the background of the page.

I used  a bit of the watercolor to add a bit of color to the background, so that it peeks  from behind the picture.  Here i used papers from the Fuchsia Soiree and Cheerful Meadow Paper packs to back the picture and set it on a page surrounded by the colorful blooms and leaves.  I added a few stamped sentiments from the Pysanka stamp set around the page to complete it!

This layout is ready for Spring!  all the warm tones in the SWEET NOTHING flowers paired with  the new papers  is just magical.

Happy 19 Birthday:

The new HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU stamp set was a favorite since the first moment the new catalogue was shared with us. I love how versatile it is and how much it will be used in cardmaking and memory keeping.  I paired it up with Obsidian ink to create the background stamping, and then added a bit of watercolor to the layout.

I used the new FOR THE LOVE OF STRIPES set A and CHEERFUL MEADOW to back the picture and also cut the numbers for the title work using the bold numeral die set.   This page came together so easily, and you can watch the process video in the following video:

Stay Strong:

The new paper packs are amazing. The florals in the FUCHSIA SOIRE PAPER PACK was the perfect complement to the flowery pair of pants she is wearing in this picture, so i pulled my scissors and cut away one of the larger images, so i can embellish the picture part of this layout.

I pulled the yellow grid paper from the CHEERFUL MEADOW PAPER PACK to back the picture and also create the title card for the pocket page.  I used the ALL THINGS ORANGE to stamp the title on the card.

To bring more of the flowers to the page, i used one of the papers to add my lines of journal  then trimmed it to fit in the pocket of the layout.   Love how easy this came together with just the paper packs a little stamping.

Thank You for Being You:

The next two layouts follow the same design, but here is why I love Altenew in my memory keeping, as their products are so versatile than you can get totally different pages by just changing the stamp set.

I covered a piece of cardstock with the Gold Peach Washi tape, and then used the new LINE ART stamp set to frame the journaling part of the page.  The  simple design of the stamp shows nicely on the watercolor background.  The title comes from the SWEET NOTHINGS stamp set and the butterfly comes from the ALL THINGS ORANGE Stamp set.

I enlarged the picture and set it on a large tag.  All it needed was a gold embossed image of the LINE ART stamp set to complete the layout, but let me show you the other design and how a simple stamp changes completely the look of the page.

Stay Strong:

I used the b side of the previous tag to add my lines of journal this time.  But instead of stamping the images onto the paper, i chose to stamp the FABULOUS FLORETS stamp set onto papers from the FUCHSIA SOIRE Paper Pack  and fussy cut the images. A bit of white gel pen help to define the centers of all the flowers.

I wanted to add lots of movement to the flowers, so i used the WILDFLOWER DOODLES STAMP SET and Obsidian ink to add a few branches and leaves to the background, thus setting the placement for the flowers. This time, i used a small picture and added more stamped flowers around it.

I backed the picture with a paper from the  A LOVE FOR PAPER STRIPES set A and then added a sentiment and title to the layout using the ALL THINGS ORANGE Stamp set.   I love how this turned out and how easy i could transform a design by switching the Altenew Stamp set.

Hope these have inspired you to check all the new ALTENEW products, but before i go, it is time for a GIVEAWAY.

I AM LIMITLESS - Simple Stories

Hi there,
Nathalie with you today with some inspiration on documenting yourself.  I know most of us have a hard time taking pictures of ourselves/selfies which results on the lack of your presence on your documenting.   Here is where the new Simple Stories I AM 2020 comes  in to save your day.  All the papers and  designs are just perfect to bring your story forward.  Let me show you:

I started the page by, literally, copying the design the papers created when fanned out on the page.   I used the b-side of the Blooming Paper as the background for the page; then cut papers from the 6x8 paper pad, 3x4 elements and Fierce papers to create the paper fan idea on the page.  I took my time hanstitching the edges of the paper.

The starting point of the papers create the perfect spot for my pictures.  However the stitched edges of the papers are a great place to add embellishments, such as phrase stickers, ephemera, brads and enamel dots.  I even used the gorgeous foam gold alpha words to set my title in place along the stitched edge of the top paper.

I added a small  piece of vellum behind the picture and set it at the corner above the paper fans.  I pulled one of the journaling ephemera to anchor the cluster of embellishments to the layout and picture.   All the floral in this collection are amazing!!!

Just to balance the bottom cluster, i added a  second one to the top of the page.  To make the page cohesive, i repeated a few of the banner ideas in the cluster, and added a butterfly to each of the major clusters

I love how my crazy ideas turned into this colorful an beautiful layout all about ME.   I am sure the new I AM 2020 will become a new favorite of yours.   Remember to share with us what you created with the Simple Stories collections.

XO!

Altenew Mini Delight: Strength Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

hi there!
Welcome to the ALTENEW MINI DELIGHT: STRENGTH RELEASE BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY... you are arriving from, my friend, Jaycee's blog (isn't he amazing!).  A list of all the participants is available at the bottom of this post.

Today, Altenew is releasing a new monthly release (subscription), Mini Delight.   Our Mini Delight is released monthly and features a 2x3 stamp set with a coordinating die/die set. Although the sets are small, they are incredibly versatile and can be used to create a variety of projects! The themes of the sets span across our full range of categories (including floral, geometric, sentiments, and more) and we are confident that it will delight you from month to month!

Isn't this just such a lovely set, but let me show you the stamp in action..

For my first project, i chose to showcase the stamp to create a layout in my Family album. Since i had just got the picture of my little after a hard week, the stamp was just perfect to document it.

I started with heavy cardstock as my base and added a bit of Altenew watercolor to the background so that it resembles rain dripping on the page. Once it dried, i used Pure white embossing powder to stamp the feather image on the background as if cascading from the sky. I chose to superembossed the tip of the feather with clear gold embossing powder.

To balance the title page, i chose to keep the journal part of the layout simple, but chose to emboss and cut three of the feathers. I used the Metallic watercolor Palette to color them in gold and silver, and added two to the bottom of the journal along with the Mini Delight: Strength sentiment.

The other feather was used to embellish the title work on the mixed media background. Just love how easy it came together, and how the stamp set was perfect for this.

Of course the new Mini Delight: Strength can be used to create colorful cards. For this, i chose to first stamp the tip of the feather with Citrus Burst and Sea Breeze Crisp ink. Then used Moon Rock crisp ink to stamp the feather outline on top of the color feather tips, thus completing the image. I repeated this until the entire card front was filled.

I then used the stamp set and chose to embossed the outline using Obsidian Black ink and crystal Clear embossing powder. I added a bit of color to the tips of the feathers using the Metallic Watercolor palette.

I used Pure White embossing powder to heat emboss the sentiment of the stamp set to a piece of navy cardstock. I cut a strip of the paper (with the sentiment) and glued it to the card. A bit of foam adhesive was all i needed to make the embossed feathers pop.

Now that you have seen the small Mini Delight: Strength stamp set in action, it is time to check it out, and add it to your collection.

Take advantage of the Monthly Subscription option, so that each month you receive your Mini Delight stamp set at your door step for the low price of $7.99...Be sure to check this option out.
